If I ever appear in a live action film, I'd darn well better be played by Bruce Campbell...

Dirk Manus is a handsome rogue who'll charm your socks off. He's also a liar and a scoundrel—don't believe anything he says, especially if there's likely to be money in it. While you're being charmed, he'll be making arrangements to steal the contents of your bank account. He has his own ship, the Lazy Sue (which he probably won in a game of space poker), and hails from Epsilon Ariadne.

EDC officer Marissa Faireborn has a thing for him. We would say she should stick to dating robots, but there is one problem with that...

... Well, we'd also accept Burt Reynolds, circa 1978...

Dirk Manus was flying to a business rendezvous in the Lazy Sue, when he was attacked by Hun-Gurrr somewhere near Earth. His distress calls were answered by Marissa Faireborn and the Technobots. Strafe immediately got confused and shot down the Lazy Sue instead of shooting the Terrorcon. After crashing, Dirk took a moment to conceal his precious cargo by burying it, before turning his charm on Marissa to avoid an arrest. Claiming to have information on a Quintesson base on one of Saturn's moons, he offered up its location... for a fee, of course. The Technobots agreed this was a good idea, and Marissa resolved not to let Dirk out of her sight until they departed, leading them to have dinner together.

Late that night, Dirk contacted his clients—the Quintessons—to renegotiate his fee for delivering their merchandise, the Recreator. They agreed, and to sweeten the deal, he offered to throw in the Technobots for free. Unfortunately, he'd been followed by Marissa, who overheard his conversion, but was easily overpowered and tied up.

Dirk set out for Saturn the next morning, with Scattershot, Lightspeed and Strafe. Even he was surprised when Abominus ambushed them as they neared their destination. Though they took out all three Technobots, the Terrorcons split apart before they could attack the Lazy Sue, allowing Dirk to put her down at her destination: the Quintesson base on Titan. After demonstrating the Recreator on Blot, he was paid his six million credits, and set off with all haste in his ship.

... Or Henry Winkler, apparently...

Unfortunately, the credits turned out to be mimic dust. Annoyed at the doublecross, he mused that at least he'd had the foresight to doublecross the Quintessons by planting a micro-size nuclear nullifier on the Recreator. At that point the bomb which the Quintessons had surreptitiously planted on the Lazy Sue went off, sending the ship crashing to the ground again. As Dirk's luck would have it, he immediately ran into three rather annoyed Technobots. His quick-talking was cut short by the timely arrival of a group of Sharkticons.

The battle was brief, due to the intercession of Marissa Faireborn, who greeted him with an uppercut. Though she was all ready to leave him on Titan, he told her about the Recreator now in the Quintessons' possession, offering to disarm it if she gave him the chance. With no other choice, the Technobots were forced to trust him again and the party set out for the Quintesson base. On the way, Marissa was attacked by vines, and Dirk assisted in rescuing her, but only so he could take the opportunity to relieve her of her weapon. With Marissa hostage, Dirk forced the Technobots to accompany him see the Quintessons.

... Maybe Billy Dee Williams.

Once there, Dirk demanded a thousand credits and a ship, using the Recreator to disintegrate the Technobots. While the Quintessons were distracted by Marissa's inevitable fury, he triggered the Recreator again, retoring the Technobots, all injuries healed. Once the Technobots were able to form Computron, affairs were rapidly cleaned up on Titan and the Quintessons abandoned moon. All was well, though Marissa was understandably peeved at being left out of the loop on Dirk's plan.

Back on Earth, Dirk thanked Marissa for the help in repairing Lazy Sue. As Lightspeed arrived to report that the credits recovered from the Quintessons had been stolen, Dirk seized Marissa, kissing her and quickly blasting off. Marissa could only laugh, as she knew at that moment Dirk would be discovering that she'd substituted the credits he'd stolen with mimic dust. Money Is Everything
