Headmaster Junior

Headmaster Juniors are a cross-faction subgroup from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Headmaster Juniors (ヘッドマスターJr Heddomasutā Junia) are a group of Earth humans selected by the Autobots and the Decepticons to fight by their side. They use a form of technology called Master-Braces to armor-up their bodies and allow themselves to transform into the heads of transtectors.

Chromedome sent the Master-Braces and Transtectors to Metalhawk on Earth to fight against the Decepticon Pretenders; however, shortly after their arrival, three sets were stolen by the Decepticons. After the death of Professor Gō, Shūta, Cab, and Minerva begged Metalhawk to let them help fight the Decepticons. Despite initial misgivings, Metalhawk gave them the Master-Braces and Transtectors under condition that they only use them for rescue, not combat. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

Meanwhile, Blood had recruited three boys from a motorcycle gang who had recently lost their territory to a rival gang. He gave them the stolen Master-Braces and Transtectors and encouraged them to cause as much destruction as possible in order to attract more power-hungry thugs. Rage!! Their careers as Headmaster Juniors concluded after an epic battle which saw their Transtectors gain sentience and abandon them all to continue the war in deep space. Easy come, easy go. A Battle... and Then...

Legends comic

The former Decepticon Headmaster Juniors were upset at losing their powers and made their way to the Autobot Transtector factory in G Nebula 89 to request new ones. Grand refused, but did furnish them with new Master-Braces that let them become Headmaster Juniors again, only this time without dedicated Transtectors. The three 1988 Autobot Headmaster Juniors transform into Earthly land vehicles while the three Decepticons transform into fictional monsters. The Head-robot figures are considerably smaller and simpler than those of the 1987 Headmasters, although they are backwards compatible with the previous year's figures. In fact, when plugged into 1987 Headmaster bodies, the 1988 figures display the Tech Spec readouts for their 1988 robot counterparts, suggesting the simplification of the tumbler system on the Tech Spec readouts into a simple fixed display to have been a late design decision. Each Autobot comes with a "helmet" to complete the robot's head; the helmet doubles as a vehicle-mode "seat" for the figure to sit in. Two small pistols attach to the "helmet" in robot mode to complete the head. The Decepticon figures do not sport additional "helmets" and pistol/antennae. Minerva and Goshooter were also released as mail-aways in the decos of their Hasbro counterparts.^[1]
