Kōmoribreast is a Decepticon Breast Animal from the Victory portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Kōmoribreast (コウモリブレスト Kōmoriburesuto) is the Breast Animal partner of Hellbat. Savage and cruel, it will happily obey his every command. Kōmoribreast transforms from Hellbat's breastplate into both a mechanical bat and the handheld "Kōmori Cannon" blaster. In bat mode, Kōmoribreast can tap into electrical systems, which, coupled with his small size, makes him an invaluable partner for Hellbat on his numerous spying and information-gathering missions. Kōmoribreast is no slouch in the combat department either: his extending, prehensile tongue can drain the energy out of a Transformer in suitably vampiric style, and his wing thrusters can bear the weight of a full-sized Transformer held by nothing but the aforementioned tongue.

Kōmoribreast was put to use by Hellbat on his first mission on Earth, during which he was dispatched to hack into the computer systems of the New Energy Resource Research and Development Laboratory. The creature was happened upon by one of the lab's scientists and broke off from its task, smashing through the wall to reunite with Hellbat and depart. Hellbat later returned to attack the lab with the rest of the Breastforce, but this time, it was being guarded by the Brainmasters. The Kōmoribreast was unleashed upon Blacker and began draining his energy until Laster freed him from its clutches, and then joined with the rest of the team's Breast Animals in ganging up on Star Saber. The New Warrior - Hellbat

When Star Saber attempted to stop the Breastforce from threatening Marine City with a neutron bomb, the team deployed their Breast Animals against him. Kōmoribreast began draining Star Saber's energy, leaving him open to attack by the other animals, but the Autobot hero was able to overpower them and soon defeated their masters. Tanker Hijack Operation

Kōmoribreast was next put to use infiltrating the Autobots' Shuttle Base, but it was discovered by the Multiforce, although not before learning that the Autobot God Ginrai had apparently died. Ginrai went on to be recreated as Victory Leo, and in this new feral form, was able to easily defeat Kōmoribreast and Lionbreast when they battled it on "Energy Road". Fight!! Victory Leo

Kōmoribreast was deployed for the final time when the Decepticons unleashed the metal-eating Doriya insects upon the Autobots. Star Saber was imprisoned inside a force field with the tiny creatures, and the Kōmoribreast helped to prevent the other Autobots from freeing him. During the battle, it used its energy-draining tongue on Laster, and then air-dropped canisters of the Doriya on the Brainmasters from above, subjecting them to the bite of the metal-munching monsters. Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na - Bat-breast!
  • Hellbat (Breastforce, 1989)
Released in the Victory portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Kōmoribreast transforms from a robotic bat into a hand-held double-blaster. It also turns into a breastplate that its larger partner Hellbat wears on his chest. Like all of the Breast Animals, while he can be stored in armor-form in his larger partner's vehicle mode, he cannot form part of the team's combined mode Liokaiser.
It was only available packaged with his partner Hellbat.

  • Liokaiser (Gift set, 1989)
  • ID number: D-335
Hellbat (and thus Kōmoribreast) was also available in a complete six-piece box set of the entire Breastforce team. All of the toys in the set are identical to their individual releases, but the set lacks bio cards for the individuals, having only cards for the combined mode.

Notes

  • Kōmori (コウモリ / 蝙蝠) is the Japanese word for "bat". The Kōmoribreast is unique among Breast Animals, in that its name contains the Japanese word for the creature it transforms into, while all the others were named using the English word ("Tigerbreast", "Eaglebreast", etc.).
