Karzite mine

The Karzite mine (カズキィル採掘所 Kazukyiru saikutsu sho) is where the people of the Paradius system mine the fossil fuel known as Karzite. Most of the land is similar to deserts like on Earth, with constant sandstorms. The area is also defended by security devices, which apparently perceive anyone that is not from the Paradius system to be an intruder. The drill bit that is used for drilling came from a dense mineral that was discovered in a meteorite that came to Zel Samine. During their search for Zel Quartz, the Transformers came to hear about this mysterious drill bit and suspected that it was the Zel Quartz they were looking for.

Autobot story

After their search within the Lazalt Ruins turned out to be a bust, the Autobots turned their attention to the Karzite mine. Wheeljack explained the mine's purpose, talked about the special drill bit, while Kup gave an explanation on what the geography was like. When they arrived at the mine, they had to fight off hoards of Decepticon troops, including Blitzwing, swarms of Sharkticons, and Octane; destroy the mine generators built by the Decepticons; and defend themselves from the security devices. Once they reached the location of the drill bit, the Autobots had to make their stand against Trypticon and his soldiers. When he fled in defeat, the Autobots discovered Blurr and brought the drill bit back to their base to study it. There, they found that the drill bit was not the Zel Quartz and then returned it to its rightful place.

Decepticon story

Due to Soundwave's research, the Decepticons decided to check the Karzite mine for the Zel Quartz, due to what the Communications Officer heard about the drill bit. Cyclonus commented that the way the people of Zel Samine had a rough way of doing things. The Decepticons who were sent to the mine faced the security forces and Autobots soldiers including Hound, Blurr, and a double-team of Hardhead and Hound. Before the Decepticons could seize the drill bit, they went head-to-head with Computron and his forces. When the Decepticons sent him packing, they stole the drill bit and left the mine, finding Octane on their way out. Back at their shuttle, the Decepticons discovered that the drill bit was not the Zel Quartz, but they still kept it. The Transformers
