Phaser (weapon)

The phaser is an energy weapon used by members of the Federation, used in handheld and on-ship configurations. Like most human weapons, it utterly sucks at fighting Decepticons but is great at fighting Autobots.

When the dilithium mine at Cygnus Seven came under attack, the Enterprise crew who beamed down utilized their phasers to try and shoot down the Decepticon Seekers. After Optimus Prime made his way onto the battlefield, Captain Kirk fired at his vehicle mode's right side with his phaser's full power, forcing him into stasis lock. Once the Decepticons had been chased away, the crew discovered one of Fortress Maximus's bulkheads which they pondered using their phasers to cut a path into before the door was blown open from the inside. When Airachnid had the Prime pinned down, Spock and Scotty fired their phasers on the sadistic helicopter. Though the shots failed to injure her, they distracted her enough for Prime to escape immediate danger.
