Quickshadow
From Transformers Wiki
- Quickshadow is an Autobot from the Rescue Bots portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Sleek, stylish, and secretive, Quickshadow is a covert operations specialist sent by Optimus Prime to assist the Rescue Bots on Griffin Rock. There's absolutely no denying she's very effective at her job, with a plethora of built-in spy-gear that lets her tackle missions with ease.
In fact, she may be a little too effective, as she's not exactly the easiest bot to work with. She's not antagonistic (though she is overconfident bordering on arrogant), she's just very used to working on her own without backup, both in personnel and planning, needing to get a job done right, fast, and on the first try. The heavily-team-based dynamic of Rescue Force Sigma-17 is very tough for her to adjust to. Perhaps Optimus sent her to learn from them just as much as they could learn from her....
She has operated on Earth for a long time, under a long list of code names, including Slipchain, Bootlatch, and Overdrive.

Optimus Prime assigned Quickshadow to Earth Arrivals and allowed her to scan the car from the Maven Danger films. Plus One One of her early assignments was to spy on Madeline Pynch. Cody's 11
Quickshadow hijacked the GroundBridge, resulting in Heatwave, Chase and two humans landing up in the Sahara. Bridge Building She again encountered the two Rescue Bots when she hijacked the GroundBridge to the mainland near Griffin Rock. After saving a driver from plunging off a bridge, she followed Heatwave and Chase back to Griffin Rock, but maintained her cover in vehicle mode. Escaping the firehouse through a tunnel, she saved a pedestrian and rescued CeCe Greene from a bank vault before the rescue team cornered her in a parking garage. She revealed to them who she was and that she'd been sent by Optimus. Arrivals After she took part in a rescue, Quickshadow attempted to share her experience with the other Rescue Bots, and Heatwave placed her in charge for a mission transporting Phodolite through town. Though she came up with a plan, she didn't have a backup when the plan went wrong, and ended up assisting when Chase provided a solution to the problem. Believing the team had nothing to learn from her, she instead opted to instead go to the mainland to instruct Blurr and Salvage. Plus One
Quickshadow was asked by Chief Burns to help with Earliween preparations, however when she arrived in Griffin Rock, she found herself the subject of an attempted theft by Evan and Myles who mistook her for the car from Maven Danger. Following their next attempt, involving a device which overrode control of her alternate mode, she inadvertently exposed the Rescue Bots' secret to the pair. They attempted to use the video to force Quickshadow to turn herself over to them, however with the help of the townsfolk, she turned the tables and took Evan and Myles into custody. Ghost in the Machine
To Quickshadow's relief (Blurr and Salvage were really annoying) the day came to open the new Rescue Bot Training Center. After the base was transformed, she accepted Blurr's challenge to race around a slot car track, after having been shrunk using a Minimizer, and easily beat him. Unfortunately the base's computer then refused to deshrink the pair. The More Things Change... With the base's holographic disguise also failing, she and Blurr made their way to the front door, evading the cleaning equipment with some help from Servo. They succeeded in exiting through a small hatch and restarted the hologram projectors once the cloaking device had been replaced. The More Things Stay the Same
When Madeline Pynch stumbled on a deposit of Energon, Quickshadow enlisted the rescue team for help in infiltrating the tycoon's mainland compound. As part of the plan, she posed as a relief car when Pynch's car broke down, allowing her to drive into the compound where she could release Servo who planted a device to let the team control the security systems. Following the successful recovery of the Energon and other tech, Pynch tried to make a getaway in Quickshadow, who promptly drove her to jail in Griffin Rock. Cody's 11
When Dani's test space mission ran into trouble, Chase asked Quickshadow to keep Ground Control in the dark while the rescue team used the Sigma to head to the rescue. To Infinity... And Back
During a brief visit to Griffin Rock, Quickshadow had the intention of making a quick exit when Maven Danger arrived, but was spotted by the actor and had to remain to avoid suspicion. She found herself being driven on a rescue by Maven, and when it later turned out that the whole visit was actually so Maven's agent Skip Scobble could steal a rare book, Quickshadow drove Mr. Danger to the nearest egress from the island. A Brush with Danger
Quickshadow and High Tide were assigned as Blades's team to protect the Scrubber Initiative in Faxian, China, and arrived well before their new team leader. When the Morocco virus, piloting a new MorBot, entered the city and stole the lab's new resiliency patch, Quickshadow was the first to intercept it via flying body tackle, slamming them both into a building. However, the resiliency patch allowed it to shrug off the blow, while the previously-stolen speed booster let it escape Quickshadow's capture cables. Upgrades Following the Virus's defeat (and the rebuilding of the GroundBridge network that stranded the separated Rescue Bots for a little while) she joined the whole team back at the mainland Training Center, where Optimus finalized everyone's new assignments, and everyone posed for a new family photo. Toys
Rescue Bots
- Quickshadow (2016)
- Part of the eleventh wave of Rescue Bots "Rescan" toys, Quickshadow automatically transforms from luxury sports car of made-up model to robot by pulling her arms/doors to the sides, which automatically flips down her hood-chest and extends her legs. Pushing her arms back in reverses the auto-transformation.
- She shares engineering with the Rescan Bumblebee toy. This toy was later redecoed into Classic Heroes Team Mirage.
- Quickshadow (Epic Figure, 2017)
- The only new bot in the fourth wave of "Epic Figures", this version of Quickshadow is a 12-inch tall non-transformable action figure. She is largely hollow, with an opening clear-plastic chest compartment to allow the smaller Playskool "Heroes" style figures to ride inside. She has simple shoulder articulation, with 5mm holes in her fists to use rescue tool accessories.
- Griffin Rock Stunt Team (Multi-pack, 2017)
- Part of the second wave of three-pack Flip Racers, Quickshadow transforms automatically from car to robot when the vehicle mode is lifted up and placed on its end.
- She was only available in a "Griffin Rock Stunt Team" set, packed with Boulder the Construction-Bot and Heatwave the Fire-Bot.
- Pullback Quickshadow (Pullback Flip Racer, 2018)
Notes
- Unlike most of the Rescue Bots, Quickshadow's driver's seat is positioned on the right side of her vehicle mode's interior. This matches her accent, as most vehicles manufactured in the United Kingdom use this configuration. She's also rear wheel drive, a trait one would expect of any self-respecting British grand tourer, wouldn't one?
- Quickshadow's animation model includes a small blue square on the back of her head which resembles a light-piping window. This is a little weird. None of her toys have a light-piping feature.
- In her introduction, she says "you may call me Quickshadow," and it's subsequently revealed that she has had multiple aliases, explaining that "Optimus insisted that my real name never be used." Chase surmises "until now, apparently." Quickshadow doesn't directly confirm this simply adding that "he (Optimus) gave me new orders." This still leaves open the possibility of "Quickshadow" being another alias.
