EDC had been receiving reports about people and cattle gone missing in the general area of San Desto, the cattle turning up sometimes but only as dead as a mutilated corpse usually is. A sushi bar? My hometown had twice as many people and we barely had a Dairy Queen!

Just prior to its disappearance, one unit, Unit Bravo, had taken their search into the Aztec Theatres, where the cause of the area's disturbances caught them, though not before a warning could be sent back to EDC Headquarters. In response to this and external research that revealed the presence of a Cybertronian energy signature, EDC recruited some of the Autobots they had saved shortly before for a mission to eliminate the threat. Under command of Marissa Faireborn and Jazz and under the cover of night, the composed team was dropped in front of a sushi bar, where they adhered to proper horror tradition by splitting up in three units to do more ground: Sunstreaker and Sideswipe formed one unit, Jazz and Marissa another, and Bumper was put with the remaining EDC soldiers. While the twins went to explore the streets, Bumper's scanner brought his unit into the Aztec Theatres, where the blood-covered movie screen made for a grim contrast with the empty but immaculate outdoors. Jazz and Marissa found themselves in a similar situation at the hospital when screams coming from the Aztec Theatres drew all back. Outside the movie theater, two badly shaken members of Bumper's unit clarified that they had been attacked and that the others had all been taken away. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe chose to a head-on approach and went into the theaters, while the four remaining outside soon became the target of the hungry insect-like semi-robot army. Infestation Neither Marissa nor Jazz could prevent their teammates from being taken away, and were forced to take cover in a garage nearby. There, they found the gruesome remains of the "Insecticons"' appetites: the missing livestock and humans. Putting this discovery and their individual bits of knowledge together, Marissa and Jazz figured out who they were dealing with and descended a tunnel they found in the back of the garage.

The Village People are in another frame.

Prior, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe had followed the Aztec Theatres tunnel into the Insecticons' lair, which was filled with their "eggs" soon to hatch. The two Autobots were attacked and taken captive by the main trio, who had previously also captured but lost Bumper. When Jazz and Marissa arrived in the brood chamber a little later and began destroying the eggs, the Insecticons were forced to take out the invaders and thereby leave an opportunity for Bumper to free the twins. Bumper opted to go after Bombshell to use the cerebro-shells against him somehow, while Sideswipe and Sunstreaker came to the aid of Jazz and Marissa against Kickback, Shrapnel and eventually the clone army again. The Autobots did well until Bombshell played his trump card and sent in his army of mind-controlled humans, the missing population. With Marissa the only one who could fight them without worrying about doing lethal damage, Bombshell's human army quickly gained the upper hand. Then Bumper made his move, short-circuiting the cerebro-shell he had taken with him and through that Bombshell himself. The humans sagged down, initially worrying the Autobots until Bumper explained them that with some medical treatment they should be okay.

Case closed, r19ht? Extermination
