Sol 1
From Transformers Wiki
Jointly developed between the Autobots and the scientists of Earth, Sol 1 (ソル1号 Soru 1-gō) was a satellite that would help alleviate both races' ever-growing need for energy by being placed in Earth orbit to collect solar power from the Sun. The satellite was capable of storing 10 to the power of 15 megawatts of energy per day, and would periodically beam this energy down to the Sol System Center on the surface of the planet for more prolonged storage.

Spike Witwicky and Fortress announced the successful completion of Sol 1 at a party on Athenia. After the celebrations, Spike, Daniel and a delegation of Autobots travelled to the Sol System Center on Earth to watch the satellite's launch, but they were followed by Ratbat, who quickly informed the other Decepticons of the impending take-off. Before Sol 1 was launched, Cyclonus, Scourge and Predaking attacked the Sol System Center, with the intent of stealing Sol 1 for Decepticon use. Thanks to the efforts of the Autobot Headmasters and Raiden, the Decepticons were forced off and Sol 1 was successfully launched.
Alas, Sol 1 had not been in orbit for long before the Decepticons made another play for control of it, and this time, the Decepticon Headmasters succeeded in making off with the satellite while the Autobots were detained on Earth by Sixshot. Attaching boosters, the Decepticons quickly propelled Sol 1 into the vicinity of the planet Zarak. The Autobot Headmasters gave chase and engaged the Decepticons in battle, but before they could defeat their foes, the stored energy from Sol 1 was beamed down to Zarak's surface, where, unbeknownst to the Autobots, it was used to energize the giant transtector being built for Decepticon leader Scorponok. Once the Decepticons were defeated, the Autobots prepared to return the satellite to Earth, only for the fleeing villains to reveal that they would use their telekinetic powers to blow the satellite up if they tried to move it. Realizing they had no options left, the Autobots resigned themselves to the destruction of Sol 1, albeit on their own terms: planting bombs on the satellite, they blew it up themselves to keep it out of the Decepticons' hands.
Spike bore no ill will, promising to build Sol 2. The Shadow Emperor, Scorponok
