Susan Blu (born July 12, 1948, and sometimes credited as Sue Blu) is an American actress, voice actress and voice director. Some of her past voice acting roles are Granny Smurf from The Smurfs, Stormer and Lindsay Pierce from Jem, Judge J.B. from BraveStarr, Galadria from Visionaries and Buttons from My Little Pony. Also Flim-Flam from The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, but let's not hold that against her.

Some of the shows Blu has directed are both the 1987 and 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Men in Black: The Series, Godzilla: The Series and Extreme Ghostbusters.

You can also see her get speared through the back by Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. But only if you really want to.

Notes

  • When originally creating Arcee's voice for The Transformers: The Movie, Blu drew inspiration from actress Barbara Stanwyck. At the time, she didn't know she would be getting added to the TV series as well.
  • In 2006, Blu recorded a DVD commentary for Sony Wonder The Transformers: The Movie DVD alongside writer Flint Dille and director Nelson Shin.
  • Susan Blu was originally tapped to voice direct Transformers: Prime, however, the death of her wife, actress Cynthia Songe, forced her to step away from the series after "Speed Metal". She was then replaced by Jamie Simone.
  • Blu was interviewed as a special feature for Kid Rhino's Beast Machines The Complete Series DVD set.
  • She has seen every episode of Beast Wars.
  • Scott McNeil has said that out of all the voice directors he has worked with over the years that Susan Blu is his personal favourite.
  • According to Susan she had flown to Vancouver every other week to record for Beast Wars.
  • Amusingly she, Frédéric Meaux and Yoshikazu Iwanami all of shared the duties of voice directing for Beast Machines and Prime in their respective language dubs, while Blu and Iwanami also worked on Beast Wars and Animated too.
