The Transformers' Grand Hour: Headmaster of the Dimensions

Inside the Ark, Powermaster Optimus Prime and the Small Targetmasters are watching the news on TV. One screen shows an oil spill from a crashed tanker, the other shows a dimensional portal in the shape of a bridge that is linking up several parallel worlds and times. From the bridge stream many robots from different time and places. A battle soon starts, with Thunderwing attacking Vroom and Crossblades.

Meanwhile, Megatron has a plan to capture the oil tanker. A Blackrock plane takes the Autobots to the oil tanker in order to stop the Decepticons.

Back at the dimensional bridge, the Air Strike Patrol attack Skyhammer. The Pretender Vehicles are spun through time and space, thrown a million years into the past into the Andromeda nebula. The Decepticon Pretenders attack the Autobot Race Car Patrol and Off Road Patrol, who have been called to the Alaska mission.

The Decepticons arrive at the oil tanker, and Megatron threatens to make the oil spill worse if it isn't handed over to him. The Autobot plane arrives, and Cloudburst, Waverider, and Landmine parachute down and use their lasers to destroy the hoses through which the Decepticons are stealing the oil. Within viewing distance now, on the dimensional bridge, relentless combat has erupted between Transformers from the past and future.

The Micromaster bases and command centre are erected near the oil-heavy water, whilst Optimus Prime gathers his forces to descend using parachutes. They battle the Decepticons, who have begun to attack the stricken tanker. Optimus Prime uses his anti-gravity device to create huge waves that force the Decepticons into the air.

The Autobots manage to weld the hole in the tanker back together, but the Decepticons are still a threat. Optimus Prime does the only logical thing—he sends a message across dimensions to Rodimus Prime. Rodimus Prime then sends Tractor Rays from Cybertron that lifts various Decepticons and Autobots onto the dimensional bridge, saving the day. (source)

AAAAAAAAAAAA
  • Optimus Prime presents a crossword about cows and bees.
  • Features on ages and ants, sadly lacking in giant space robots.
  • A rather horrible crossword with Optimus Prime and scary screaming faces.

  • Take Off With The Transformers UFO: With irreparable damage to the ark, how can the Transformers ever return to Cybertron? The answer is with a UFO! The plans for the UFO are included, and can be constructed from any paper-based material.

Reprints

Notes

  • The title of the reprinted comic strip is "Galvatron's Return from the Future"
  • Marvel UK issue #100 is not reprinted, leaving a gap between this and last issue.
  • If you tell us exactly what it is, it isn't an "Unidentified Flying Object" anymore, now is it?
  • The text story reveals that Optimus Prime has an anti-gravity device.
  • Part of the attack on the ship is recycled from the text story in Transformers Comic-Magazin issue 3.
  • It isn't particularly clear what this dimensional bridge is, but apparently an oil spill is much more exciting to Transformers.
  • According to issue #19, Rodimus Prime being across 'lightyears and many dimensions' means he's Autobot Commander on Cybertron, simultaneous with Optimus' leadership of the Autobots on Earth. (In fact, he is only ever called 'Rodius Prime', but it seems safe to assume that it is Rodimus rather than a new, hitherto unknown Prime.)
  • Presumably the Pretender Vehicles are lost a million years in the past in Andromeda, since they are never stated to come back.
  • The story mentions a 'Micro Command Center'. This could be the Battlefield Headquarters, the Rocket Base, or some new and strange abomination that exists only in the head of the writer.
  • Writer Robert Mann seems to be on weapons-grade narcotics.

Errors

  • The text story describes Megatron as both a Headmaster and a Powermaster.
  • The Battle Patrol are said to be Decepticons rather than Autobots
  • Waverider and Landmine are said to have jet modes.
  • This story introduces the mysterious BOMBURSI, SUBMARODER, WHEEL JACK and RODIUS PRIME
