The objective is to test the condition preview comparing it with a touch pad (Experiment 1) and mouse 3 D navigation features including modified (Experiment 2). Two search conditions are tested in order to analyze the effects of this device. The first "normal"condition with the classic search features, page by page, the second "plan" condition which enables you to preview selected pages and select only relevant pages. We postulate that this preview device should provide a better interaction between the user and the system and lead to better performance (reduced search time, decreased extrinsic load and improved payload memory). We asked a population (students and seniors)to find a target apartment with one or more specific criteria. The independent variables are manipulated, the type of modality, age, and complexity of research (variable intra-group). Dependent variables are the time to research, the number of visits to the set, the number of pages viewed and score the questionnaire Nasa Tlx. Significant effects were observed on both media (touch pad and mouse 3 D) with significant enhancements provided by preview.

The task is to find a target apartment with one or more specific criteria in a real estate agency designed website. Several conditions were tested. The “normal” condition with the classic search features, page by page, the other "plan" condition which enables you to preview selected pages and select only relevant pages. We are interested in the implementation of cognitive processes to which is added the importance of maintaining the goal of research in working memory, and also in the concept of cognitive load invested in such activity. The results show significant effects of such previewing device.
