The seismic velocities distribution analysis indicated that, there are three different zones ranging between (590 – <1400 m/s), (1400 – <1800 m/s) and (1800 – 5300 m/s). The obtained results show that the first low velocity values may indicate the unsaturated zone which is directly affected by the surface water that appears along the studied area. The second velocity range may reflect the water level at the saturated zone or the main aquifer. The third range of velocity reflects the lithological interfaces. The estimated depth to the unsaturated zone varies between 2 m to 7m. The depth to the saturated zone ranges between 10 m and 15 m. However, the lithological interfaces depths is de...

These Wadies like Wadi Muthayimmah, Wadi Sa'a and Wadi Muraykhat, originated from the Oman Mountains and form the catchment and feeding area of the water resources. For a better understanding of the aquifer system, water flow and water quality, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) survey has been carried out along selected profiles in Wadi Muraykhat and Wadi Sa'a. The data was integrated with the available borehole data to image the Quaternary aquifer in the study area. The results of the survey are 2-D resistivity tomograms, which indicate remarkably the different hydro-stratigraphic units of the Quaternary aquifer along the study area. Three identified geoelectric-lithologic zones have been interpreted. A surficial zone consists of loose to weakly co...

In this study, we have used three techniques to locate geological contacts and major faults, namely: the Euler deconvolution, the analytic signal and the local wavenumber methods. These three techniques have been tested on synthetic models for accuracy and sensitivity, to determine the best parameters that yield a
