The paper is a synthesis of the preoccupations of the English language teaching profession with the space created by the disappearance of Methods. Because the Pedagogical Methodology is an important component of the teaching profession tools, we consider that such reflective discussions on the topic of Learning and Teaching Methods is very useful for all the Teachers - beginners or mentor level practicionners, or even for the Teachers Trainers. The paper presents and comments on the limits and the myths of Method, and the post-Method condition.

The project promotes research connected to the design and implementation of an electronic system designated for the communication with people with major neuro-muscular disabilities. At international level, considerable efforts have been made to find solutions for developing complex communication systems for people with severe disabilities. Our research is focused on the development of a system made up of two units -one for the patient and one for the caretaker -, which enables good radio communication between the patient(s) and the attendant(s). The system will be used in medical care, both in treatment units and homes. The project offers an answer to some of today's challenges in medical care, as it provides autonomy for the people with neuro-muscular disabilities and makes communication with them possible. It deals with the design and implementation of an electronic system for the communication with people with major neuro-muscular disabilities. While considerable efforts have been made worldwide to find solutions for developing complex communication systems for people with severe disabilities, this project is focused on the development of a system made up of two units-one for the patient and one for the caretaker-, which enables good radio communication between the patient(s) and the attendant(s). The system can be used in medical care, both in treatment units and homes. It offers an answer to some of todaypsilas challenges in medical care, as it provides autonomy for this kind of patients and makes communication with them possible. In Romania, neither medical institutions nor the majority of people with major disabilities have the resources to purchase expensive communication equipment. Addressing this need, the project aims at designing an efficient low-cost communication system.

The key words are shown to the patients via both the visual and audio channels, and the patients can select the necessary word or phrase by operating a switch. The word or phrase is then transmitted to a caretaker who takes the necessary action. The key words are organised hierarchically in the open data base, to which new items can be added.

In an attempt to investigate this claim, a study was conducted involving 228 lower and upper secondary school Romanian students. The investigation probed for age and gender differences in the students' attitudes towards learning English from computer games, as well as for specific instances of language learning. The language remembered from playing reveals which game elements and properties appear most conducive to language learning. The frequency of a word or phrase, its bearing in the logic of the game, and the game capacity to present contextualized language, simultaneously seen and heard, are important factors. Nevertheless, there is ample evidence of significant limitations. The analysis shows strengths and weaknesses that may be relevant for foreign language learning game design.

Based on inquieries in WebCorp and the BNC and COCA, the paper shows the relative incidence of this construction in the available corpora. The investigation concludes that the construction is more likely to be found in Internet texts and communications. This prompts a brief discussion on the general nature of Internet language and its main characteristics. Moreover, taking into consideration the morpho-syntactic make-up of the construction, certain theories about its occurrence are presented. It is also noted that the construction is by no means new, having been attested centuries ago. Thus, the paper tries to tie in history with present-day trends in language and linguistics.

Then it signals a few deviations from standard English, such as the third conditional, which together with other grammatically non-standard structures co-exist with the standard ones in the spoken register, but can also be found on the Web and in the media. Both the Web and the media favour the inclusion and possible spread of non-standard features, and thus they represent valuable language databases to be researched.

This paper describes physics simulations designed for the study of the virtual evolution of physics phenomena, based on Adobe Flash CS3 computer applications. The simulations help the students understand several important physics phenomena and laws more easily while improving their abilities of making measurements and information' processing. The simulations also provide the students with the opportunity of using the experimental data for performing calculations and plotting. They can also be considered tools for checking the results obtained from experimental work.

The trainee's device is a PC (preferably a laptop) with display and loudspeaker (audio-video communication). The trainer has a PC. The communication system is the radio local network (WLAN), which enables a single trainer to communicate with several trainees. The system is operational and can be applied in the following situations: the trainee cannot normally communicate (oral/written expression) but can hear and/or see and can move, at least partially, a hand, a finger, the sole, etc. With this system, called ASISTSYS, handicapped persons are thus trained in order to fluently communicate with the outside world, after appropriate training. Principle of the method: (1) the trainer's PC transmits "words/expressions/key sentences" that come one after the other; (2) the trainee selects the appropriate e...

Training is performed in stages, starting with simple expressions, continuing with more difficult expressions, and then passing to abstract notions. In the case of persons with a slight handicap, the ASISTSYS system can be implemented in the distance learning process.
