Along with them we find in the 5th act a remarkable parody of the dialogue known as Asclepius, the first known hermetic treatise written in Latin. Therefore, this paper proposes, on the one hand, to explore the features (both linguistic and literary) that allow to consider this scene as parodic; and, on the other hand, to examine this parody of a hermetic text within Antiquity.

We will seek to show how some occultist authors have reshaped and adapted certain myths from Antiquity to make them fit their ideology, as is the case of feminism.

ABSTRACT
This work considers the relationship between the novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus and nineteenth-century esotericism with Hermeticism and its magical practices. We will focus on the influence of theurgy, a very popular magical-religious practice among the Neoplatonic movements of the first centuries of our era. In its Hermetic form, the art of animating statues through the attraction of their internal divine powers stands out. On the one hand, we will present an analysis of the path that this unique practice follows until it reaches Frankenstein. On the other hand, we will deal with the reception of the motive in this work.
Keywords: Frankenstein, Hermeticism, theurgy, reception.

En 1834 y 1842 Edward Bulwer-Lytton publicaba The Last Days of Pompeii y Zanoni respectivamente.

Classics and Comics, 2011: vi).

(Cfr. Nisbet y Rudd (2004: 96), "Horace [...] had no inhibitions about using words with an official, legal, or even commercial resonance").

Specifically, we will focus on the appropriation that the author does of the figure of Hermes- Toth and the treatises contained in the Corpus Hermeticum as a defense for the means in which the author expresses himself: comic books.

En 1834 y 1842 Edward Bulwer-Lytton publicaba The Last Days of Pompeii y Zanoni respectivamente.

This dissertation is divided in two mayor parts: in the first part, departing from Antiquity, it is described how we understand Hermetism nowadays and the fact that is present in the genesis of the different literary works analyzed in these pages. In the second part, I focus on these works, which have been divided in three mayor archetypes: Hermetic characters, Hermetic places and Hermetic concepts.
