Juan Carlos Moreno Romo
Juan Carlos Moreno Romo es licenciado en filosofía por la UNAM y doctor en la misma disciplina por la Universidad de Estrasburgo, Francia. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, es profesor de la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Autor de un buen número de artículos especializados, ha publicado principalmente, además de la traducción y el “Epílogo del traductor” a El mito nazi, de Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe y de Jean-Luc Nancy (Anthropos, 2002; reeditado en 2011), los libros: Vindicación del cartesianismo radical (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2010), Hambre de Dios. Entre la filosofía, el cristianismo, y nuestra difícil y frágil laicidad (Fontamara, México, 2013), Filosofía del arrabal (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2013), ¿Doscientos años de qué? O sobre nuestra ambigua relación con la Modernidad, con la filosofía y con las humanidades (Fontamara, México, 2014) y La religión de Descartes (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2015). Ha coordinado asimismo los volúmenes colectivos Descartes vivo (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2007), Unamuno y nosotros (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2011) Unamuno, moderno y antimoderno (Fontamara, México, 2012); y Ortega pensador (Fontamara, México, 2016).

No está del todo claro que nosotros pertenezcamos, en Iberoamérica toda, a la estricta civilización Moderna; pero lo que sí está claro, y es incluso actualidad política y hasta mediática, es que esa civilización declina ya, en el cada vez más cercano horizonte.
—¿Qué piensas tú de todo eso? ¿Qué hora es ya, en la historia del mundo, en el momento mismo en el que retomamos esta añeja conversación?
—Estamos entrando en una inmensa mutación de la humanidad, de la tierra misma, de la vida… Una mutación de la misma amplitud que tuvieron las del cristianismo, el capitalismo, y las transformaciones técnicas del siglo XIX. Algo está ocurriendo, entonces, que nosotros ignoramos.
Este pequeño libro intenta, desde diferentes ángulos, y en el horizonte de la “filosofía del arrabal”, contribuir a levantar, y a hacer visible o comprensible para todo lector medianamente atento —o para toda persona culta, mejor— el diagnóstico de la Babel contemporánea o postmoderna.
Este libro afronta un tema realmente tabú: el de la fe católica del llamado “Padre de la Modernidad”. Y lo hace en debate no sólo con el laicismo ambiente (esa ideología anti-religiosa que suplanta a la verdadera laicidad) sino también, en un primer plano con cierta, muy reciente campaña de recuperación tardo-ilustrada, representada por una serie de muy promocionados autores “globales” (Watson, Grayling, Shorto), y en un plano más profundo con pensadores protestantes (Kierkegaard, Barth, Jaspers) y católicos (Unamuno, Maritain, Juan Pablo II) del más alto nivel.
La educación de los niños, la de los jóvenes y la de las sociedades en general —cada vez más infantilizadas— no es algo que se pueda ya dar simplemente por sentado en esta época en la que las consideraciones más cínicas o más egoístas, acompañadas de las «perspectivas» o de las ideologías más grotescas, vienen, voraces, «por sus fueros».
Todos estos trabajos, creo, responden al contexto actual de las sensibilidades y las artes. Se posicionan y dan cuenta de ello. Sus aportaciones ya han demostrado ser provechosas en otras situaciones. Por eso que ahora se reúnan y se te entreguen, amable lector, en formato de libro.
