Blas Valenzuela Camacho is a PhD in Social Sciences and full-time Professor-Researcher at the Faculty of International Studies and Public Policy of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa. He has dedicated his research effort to the study of urban and regional development, migration and transnational labor markets, especially the process of economic insertion of migrants in receiving societies, ethnic economies and immigrant entrepreneurship. His works seek to explore the process of dispersion of origins and destinies of Mexican migration at the end of the 20th century and its bidirectional effects on the communities involved. Recently, he has dabbled in the study of the precariousness of labor markets in the United States since the tightening of immigration policy.
