Elena Losada

Elena LOSADA SOLER is lecturer in Portuguese literature at the Universitat de Barcelona. She is a researcher at ADHUC—Research Center for Theory, Gender, Sexuality, where she coordinated Lletra de Dona, an online literary criticism site, and is currently the director of the UNESCO Chair in Women, Development and Cultures. She has published several studies on gender, especially about the representation of women in 19th century realist narrative and about the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector. She has translated thirteen of Lispector's works, and for one of these translations -Queridas Mías- she received the Giovanni Pontiero Prize for the best translation from Portuguese in 2012. Since 2011 she has researched crime novels by women, and she has been the PI of two financed research projects: "Mujeres y novela criminal en España (1975-2010): autoras, figuras de poder, víctimas y criminales (MUNCE)" (FEM2011-22870, 2012-2014), and "Víctimas y agresoras. Representaciones de la violencia en la narrativa criminal escrita por mujeres (VANACEM)" (FEM2014-55057-P, 2015-2017).
