Rita L. Irwin
Rita L. Irwin is Professor of Art Education, and the Associate Dean of Teacher Education at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Her research interests include preservice and inservice arts teacher education, curriculum studies, artist-in-schools programs, and socio-cultural issues. Her research involves action research, case study, image-based research, and many forms of arts-based educational inquiry including a/r/tography. She is also committed to leadership in arts education and is the current President of the International Society for Education through Art and is the current Chair of the World Alliance for Arts Education.
