The Forest Law of Ecuador consists of 107 articles, whereas its regulations contain 269 articles. They are related to forestry resources, forestry patrimony protection, forests and vegetation, forest production and benefits, the control and mobilization of the forestry resources, research and capacitation, and the forestry industry protection; to natural areas, wild flora and fauna, their patrimony, conservation, and economic support; and to the violation of the law and its judgment.

Off-farm employment in rural households has been cited in the literature as a potentially ideal alternative to reduce forest clearing and pressure on natural resources, since it provides income while at the same time taking household labor away from the farm. Nonetheless, empirical research on the relationship between off-farm work and natural resource use is still scarce. This paper examines the impact of off-farm work on forest clearing, logging, hunting, and fishing among both migrant colonists and indigenous populations in the Ecuadorian Amazon. In contrast to prior research, we use an instrumental variable approach to control for the potential endogeneity of off-farm work with respect to natural resource use. The results indicate that the higher the number of days worked off-farm at the household level, the lower the forest clearing. On the other hand, the number of days worked off-farm has no effect on logging, hunting, and fishing. The implications of this for sustainable dev...

PHENOLOGICAL AND PRODUCTIVE STUDY OF NINE VARIETIES OF ROSE (Rosa sp.), IN THE THIRD AND FOURTH PRODUCTION CYCLE IN CAYAMBE.
SUMMARY
In the Flower Company "Ponte Tresa Inversiones SA" located at Cayambe, Pichincha, was evaluated phenological and productive growth of nine varieties of rose (Rosa sp.), Explorer, Freedom, Green Tea, High & Orange Magic, High & Yellow Magic, Mondial was evaluated, Tibet, Titanic and Topaz, in third and fourth production cycle. For statistical validation tests of significance, was used test "t" of student and Chi-square (chi-square), with 30 observations per variety. The variables evaluated were: stem length and diameter (cm) long flower bud (cm), days to sprouting, days to flowering, number of harvested stems and productivity. The best results in the fourth production cycle (wet season), in the varieties: Explorer, with average height 92.8 cm; High Yellow Magic, with 0.78 cm in diameter; Titanic with button size 6.89 cm long; Green Tea, with 9.96 days of sprouting; Tibet 45.65 days to flowering; Titanic with 52.8 stems of productivity.

In order to decontaminate urban areas, plants with a large capacity for CO2 absorption must be used. For this purpose, the Jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia D. Don.) Is the most prominent species. Micropropagation techniques were used to obtain seedlings, capsules , The seeds were extracted, washed, disinfected and germinated in Murashige & Skoog culture media at half the salt concentration (MS ½) and Woody Plant Medium (WPM).

At 8 days of germination, the epichyles obtained were cultivated in the Murashige & Skoog media at half the concentration (MS ½) and Woody Plant Medium (WPM), to which different concentrations of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) To obtain aerial shoots. After 30 days, the outbreaks obtained were subcultured in the MS ½ and WPM media added with indolebutyric acid (IBA) to achieve rooting. Acclimatization was carried out in a greenhouse, where the roots of the explants were washed with water to remove the agar, then transplanted into polyethylene sheaths which contained a substrate composed of two parts of black soil and a part of sand Covered with plastic cups and watered continuously. In the statistical part, a completely random design was used with factorial 2 x 4 with five observations; it was found that for budding WPM + 0.9 ppm BAP obtained shoots in less time and greater length; For rooting WPM + 0.0 ppm IBA obtained the highest percentage of rooting and length of roots, with this technique allowed to obtain plants at a cost of USD 0.42 / plant.
