The birth of Sigilography as an autonomous discipline, countless inventories and
catalogs of medieval seals were published throughout Europe, laying the theoretical
foundations that would serve for the study of seals. Most of the existing stamp catalogs in Spain have only collected the imprints preserved in state-owned and local
archives and in other unique collections of recognized prestige, completely ignoring
the important collections that other institutions and entities preserve. Despite the
historiographic advances that have been experienced in recent years and that have
made known some medieval seals of the Crown of Castile, important gaps persist.
Analogous to other ambitious and innovative projects existing in Portugal or France,
work has begun in Spain on the creation of a large digital database –“SIG-NUM”–
which aims to establish itself as a simple and quickly, developing with a ultidisciplinary approach in which the uniqueness and seriality of the seals and its diplomatic nature converge with other aspects such as Heraldry, emblems or Epigraphy.
The varied and rich documentation preserved on the administration of the sick allows us to learn about the different admission procedures, the people involved in the diagnosis and the types of documents that make up the files of the sick, most of which are made up of certifications from ecclesiastical, civil and health authorities, accompanied by information and notarial transfers of testimonies in which statements from relatives and neighbours were recorded, with whose testimonies the administrator and the doctor decided whether the admission was necessary.

The councils designed their different emblems, banners and seals as instruments of representation and identifying elements of the municipal institution. This work tries to identify and study some of the seals that these institutions created during the 13th century, analyzing their symbolic character as a representation of the city, as well as their legal and diplomatic function.
The important events that occurred between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th favored the transformation of Seville into one of the most populous and prominent cities in the European commercial environment. The arrival of the printing press and the growing needs of new liturgical books as a result of the Tridentine demands, meant a renewal in the librarian landscape. The Andalusian capital maintained links, from a perspective of librarian commerce, with other Spanish and American cities and towns. This paper provides some news about Sevillian and Astigitan booksellers during the 16th century, paying special attention to the relations
between them.
No disease such as leprosy had so many consequences for the mourners. In addition to their external signs, easily identifiable, the lepers were in the Middle Ages extirpated from society, dispossessed of their material goods and confined in specialized institutions under the government of the Church, the Crown or other corporations. The Hospital of San Lázaro de Sevilla, of royal foundation, is an excellent example that allows us to get closer to the social reality of the
lepers during the Middle Ages. The rich documentary collection of its funds makes it possible to establish the relationship of the hospital with its immediate reality, the support of the Crown during its existence, the forms of government of the community of lepers or the social differences existing between them.
