Lutheran doctrine of justification was commonly assumed to be the foundation on which
his thought and legacy were structured. However, recent research, especially W. von
Löwenich’s study Luther’s Theologia Crucis (1929), has revealed that the key to the great
German reformer’s theology is in staurology. In a theological introduction, I will present
the “theology of the cross” as a key to the interpretation of Luther’s thought, seeking to:
1. contextualize the theological emphasis in Christian discourse (Roots); 2. show that
the logic of the cross underlies the great themes of his thought and work (Hermeneutical Key); and 3. indicate how this perspective has been perpetuated in theological discourse
up to the present day (Posterity).
Dada a
nossos dias (posteridade).
Myth is one of the cornerstones of Raimon Panikkar’s thought. This dimension should be considered in the broader context of rehabilitation of myth and of the debate around demythologization. Panikkar actually approaches the issue in a quite original way: (1) by proposing a sui generis notion of myth as horizon of sense and intelligibility; (2) by highlighting the difference between mythos and logos, an essential element in Panikkar’s critic of the logical monism in Western culture; (3) by pointing out the deep connection between myth and symbol; and (4) by recognizing the existence of a mobility and plasticity in myth, which makes him talk about «transmythization» and «remythization» instead of demythologization. In this paper, I try to present these four aspects of Panikkar’s understanding of myth.

The theological debate about the Trinity presents, in the contemporary period, a remarkable vitality. Commonly perceived as a kind of «celestial theorem», the trinitarian doctrine has come, with the contribution of the theological reflection, to recover an existencial centrality correspondent to the centrality that has always enjoyed in the Symbol of the christian faith. This article intends to present an overview of the contemporary renewal of the trinitarian theology, in three moments: 1. describing the
theological context in which this renewal takes place; 2. systematizing the most significant acquisitions of this theological renewal; and 3. opening possible perspectives for further reflection.
