One theory which looks at the roots of conflict is Human Needs Theory, however it is often ignored and neglected by peace researchers. This theory may offer valuable insights into the sources of conflict, and thus possible resolutions. In this study, the Human Needs Theory was applied to the conflict in Winneba. Understanding the social context of the conflict is essential for developing efficient responses. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of chieftaincy conflicts on development and to map a road towards a peaceful resolution of conflict using the human need theory. The non-probability sampling technique was used to decide on respondents for the study. A total of 40 respondents were interviewed and made to fill a 10-item structured questionnaire. The findings show that the Municipality is enjoying negative peace in spite of the Appeal court ruling on the chieftaincy dispute and this is affecting the development of the town. To resolve this conflict there will be the need for government, political parties, the Municipal Assembly and all stakeholders to show a high sense of morality and refrain from exploiting ethnic sentiments for electoral favours. Again a lot of public education on peace targeting the youth of the area must be started immediately. Peace clubs must be started at the basic schools level to defuse possible breaches of the peace. The study finally concluded that observing Human Needs Theory could effectively give new insights into finding strategies which may work for both Garthey and Ayirebi Acquah Families.

As men live together in the social environment, there is bound to be conflict among individuals and groups. There are a number of different causes of conflict; however, these can largely be classified under a limited number of headings, namely land disputes, politics, religious and cultural differences and Rights-based grievances (Barash et al, 2002). A dispute begins when one person or group makes a claim or demand on another who rejects it. These matters are central to human social existence and therefore anytime conflicts occur it must be resolved as quick as possible.

Extending the idea of human development to encompass women’s empowerment and gender justice puts social transformation at the center of the agenda for human development and progress of women, choices for women, especially poor women, cannot be enlarged without a change in relations between women and men as well as in the ideologies and institutions that preserve and reproduce inequality. This does not mean reversing position, so that men become subordinate and women dominant. Rather, it means negotiating new kinds of relationship that are based not on power over others but on a mutual development of creative human energy. It also means negotiating new kinds of institutions, incorporating new norms and rules that support egalitarian and just relations between women and men.

Hospitals apply all the safety and quality standards to Health as spelt out in the patients act. This is crucial to ensure patient safety and confidence in Health services.

This article addresses the major sources and effects of women's rights violations in Ghana and it also suggests some innovative ways of dealing with them. It revisits the various causes and nature the of human rights abuse perpetuated against women in Africa and notes that within the context of women's right violations, the Ghanaian constitution and other domestic laws are joined with International Humanitarian Law to establish protection for women. It concludes on the note that violence against women is so entrenched in the society that even the victims condone such violations of their rights, some women claiming it is a sign of love. Africa must accede to the minimal standards of engagement for protection of women's rights and possibly support this with the infusion of the African values of sense of community and dignity of the human person in the existing legal regime.

How to Hear God's Voice is a practical book, that clearly trains Christians to experience dialogue with God. Teaching the use of vision, intuitive heart flow and journaling, this book has brought me to the place where I can daily record what the Lord is saying to me. The keys that were examined, discussed in detail, and I immediately applied to my life are: 1. How to recognize God’s voice as spontaneous thoughts. 2. Learning how to become still before the Lord. 3. Looking for vision as you pray. 4. Realizing the importance of two-way journaling. Many Christians consider hearing God's voice to be both biblical and part of daily living. But how can they discern between God's speech, their own ideas or feelings, and other voices, and what do they exactly mean when they say they "hear God's voice"? The impact of studying this book on my life is very tremendous. Learning how to hear God's voice and see Him in vision changed my life, and brought healing, deliverance, and anointing to expand the Kingdom. We must learn to still our minds and hearts to clearly hear God’s voice on a regular basis. Again, we must posture ourselves in stillness and peace to hear God’s communication. This is the most helpful strategy I have ever found for clearly hearing God speak to me. With this strategy, I can listen to more and understand more than in any other way. The key is to practice asking, then listening, and then writing down what comes to mind. I first learned this strategy from Dr Mark Virkler and have adapted it for myself. This dissertation concludes that Christian leaders should have reason to be greatly concerned about not hearing God’s voice. It then offers some suggestions about how spiritual deception can be minimised.

Ghana is a relatively peaceful and stable democracy in the West African sub-region, which has been confronted with violent conflicts and insecurity. Building infrastructures for peace, therefore, becomes relevant for sustainable peace and development. One of the few nations in the world with a well-thought-out infrastructure for peace is Ghana; the National Peace Council (NPC) is Ghana's peacekeeping apparatus. The NPC has a strong sense of legitimacy to operate because of its legal mandate, which was established by Act 818. Using the human needs theory as a foundation, the contributions of the NPC towards building strong institutions to advance peaceful elections in Ghana is a need that cannot be over emphasised.
