In this paper a miniaturized triangular microstrip patch antenna for 2.45GHz RFID Readers is presented. The miniaturization in the antenna size is achieved by annular slot loading in the ground plane. The proposed antenna is designed on a single substrate board of dimensions 29.42×29.42×1.6 mm3. In addition, enhanced impedance bandwidth is observed for the proposed antenna, compared to corresponding conventional microstrip antennas. All the simulations were performed in CADFEKO, a Method of Moment (MoM) based solver. The measurements are done with ANRITSU MS2026C Vectorial Network Analyzer.
