The Medan City TPA in the Waterfall Village, Medan Marelan District is the final disposal site for the City of Medan. The composition of the waste at the Waterfall TPA in 2017 consisted of 71.5% organic; Paper 2%; Plastic 10.1%; wood 2%; fabric 2.5% rubber 2.5%; metal 0.6%; glass 0.8%; 1 % chunks; pampers / sanitary napkins 3, 1% and others 3.8% (Department of Hygiene and Parks City Medan). Based on this condition, if waste management efforts are not carried out properly, the service level based on the MDGs (Millineum Development Goals) target of 80% will not be achieved. The composition of plastic waste of 10.1% is quite high. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (2017) stated that plastic waste increased by 15% from 10% in 2005. According to the Ministry of Transportation, the growth rate of traffic accident victims for children aged under 15 years in the period 2007-2012 ranked highest in Indonesia which is amounted 38,7%. This condition is very worrying since children as our future generation lose their future due to traffic accident. This study aims to analyze traffic safety for elementary school children with case study in Depok, State Elementary School Cisalak 01. This study was conducted by distributing questionnaires to students, parents and teachers in grade 5 and 6. Analysis data using nonparametric statistical test. Results showed that Depok with low ranked of vulnerability based on indicator of personal safety but on the way to and from school, students still have accident risk that is mainly due to lack of safety knowledge and Safety School Zone (ZoSS). This study proposes Safer Journey to School program to improve traffic safety level of children. Abstrak Menurut Kementrian Perhubungan, tingkat pertumbuhan korban kecelakaan lalu lintas pada anak-anak usia di bawah 15 tahun dalam kurun waktu 2007-2012 menduduki peringkat tertinggi di Indonesia, yaitu sebesar 38,7%. Kondisi ini sangat memprihatinkan mengingat anak-anak sebagai generasi penerus bangsa kehilangan masa depannya akibat kecelakaan yang dialaminya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keselamatan lalu lintas pada siswa Sekolah Dasar dengan mengambil studi kasus di Depok yaitu SDN Cisalak 01. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada siswa, orang tua dan guru kelas 5 dan 6. Data dianalisis dengan uji statistik nonparametrik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam perjalanan ke dan dari sekolah masih memiliki risiko kecelakaan terutama berkaitan dengan minimnya pengetahuan keselamatan dan fasilitas Zona Selamat Sekolah (ZoSS) di sekolah. Untuk itu, penelitian ini mengusulkan program Perjalanan Aman ke Sekolah untuk meningkatkan tingkat keselamatan lalu lintas pada anak-anak.

Retirement villages are regarded as a viable accommodation option for the ever increasing ageing population in Australia. This paper aims to identify sustainability features and practices adopted in retirement villages and associated benefits to improve the life quality of older people. A case study of an existing retirement village 10 kms from Brisbane CBD was conducted involving a series of interviews with the village managers and residents together with documents relating to the village's operations and activities. The environmentally friendly features that were incorporated into the development mainly include green design for the site and floor plan and waste management in daily operation. More importantly, a variety of facilities are provided to strengthen the social engagement and interactions among the residents. Additionally, different daily services are provided to assist independent living and improve the health conditions of residents. Also, the relatively low vacancy rate in this village indicates that these sustainability features offer good value of money for the residents. The paper provides a first look at sustainable retirement villages in terms of triple bottom line sustainability with emphasis on social aspects, reveals the importance in maintaining an appropriate balance, and provides examples of how this can be achieved in practice.

ABSTRACT Purpose This chapter discusses the opportunity of Islamic project financing implementation for public infrastructure development in Indonesia. Design/Methodology/Approach This chapter, firstly, reviewed existing literature on Islamic finance to explore the applicability of Islamic financing in infrastructure development. Interviews were conducted as the first stage of Delphi method approach. This was then followed by reviewing Indonesia’s government policies and regulations in infrastructure industry and Islamic financing. Findings This chapter enlightens the implementation of Islamic financing on infrastructure project financing in Indonesia. The findings indicate that the government policies and regulations on both infrastructure investment and Islamic financing support the implementation of Islamic project financing, whereas, an improvement is still needed in order to overarch infrastructure business and Islamic financing investment. Research Financing framework development for Indonesia infrastructure projects. Limitations/Implications The result reported comprises the preliminary study of Islamic project paper written based on published research papers and interviews. Furthermore, the data collected for the study are limited to the case of Indonesian infrastructure projects. Practical Implication Islamic financing in Indonesia infrastructure projects development has not been optimally implemented. Therefore, this chapter serves as a catalyst to explore alternative financial scheme such as Islamic financing for infrastructure development. Originality/Value This chapter highlights possibilities and obstacles in applying Islamic scheme to infrastructure project financing. This provides a framework to analyse the steps to implement Islamic financing successfully in infrastructure development.
