The paper is focusing on the migration from the perspective of the accession of Romania to the EU. The influence of the European integration on the migration inflows is very important. Emigration has undoubtedly become a key phenomenon in the world, leading to major social and economic changes in most countries. Immigration flows continue to increase in many OECD countries, notably European countries. Beginning with 1990, a large number of Romanian people left Romania, especially for countries from Europe, Canada and USA. In 1990, almost 97,000 persons left Romania, of which over 23,000 Romanians, and over 60,000 Germans. The main causes of emigration are poverty. But in other cases, leaving country could also be a way of getting emancipation, freedom and of finding a better position.
