This study aims to analyze the application of religious moderation values in Islamic education an... more This study aims to analyze the application of religious moderation values in Islamic education and character subjects at State Senior High School 9 Manado using a qualitative descriptive method. Primary data were obtained from teachers of Islamic Education and Character through interviews and observations, while secondary data was collected through documentation from students' and teachers' books, Lesson Plans, and Syllabus for Islamic education and character subject of 2013 Curriculum. The result showed that teachers' implementation of religious moderation values in Islamic Education and Character subjects is carried out by teachers using an additive approach and developing indicators of achievement of Basic Competencies as outlined in the lesson plan and the syllabus. It is also associated with paying attention to the principles of relevance, consistency, and adequacy. This study also found that implementing religious moderation values is carried out through exemplary examples by teachers in schools and the community.

Tesis “Pendidikan dan Politik (Gerakan Sarekat Islam di Sulawesi Utara Periode 1920 1950)” bertuj... more Tesis “Pendidikan dan Politik (Gerakan Sarekat Islam di Sulawesi Utara Periode 1920 1950)” bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menganalisis pengaruh gerakan pendidikan, dan gerakan politik Sarekat Islam, serta kontribusinya terhadap perkembangan masyarakat Bolaang Mongondow. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode historical research. Prosedur penelitian dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data (heuristik), kritik sumber (verifikasi), analisis dan sintesis (interpretasi), serta penulisan sejarah (historiografi). Sementara pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan psikologis, sosiologi, antropologi, keagamaan dan politik. Adapun sumber yang digunakan adalah sumber primer dan sekunder yang terdiri dari sumber tulisan berupa buku, artikel jurnal, arsip, koran dan majalah, serta sumber non-tulisan berupa hasil wawancara dan bukti arkeologis. Penelitian ini menemukan beberapa hal untuk menjawab rumusan masalah penelitian, diantaranya: Pertama, gerakan Sarekat Islam dalam bidang pendidikan di Bolaang Mongondow ditandai oleh pendirian Sekolah Islamiyah BPPI tahun 1926 dengan masa studi lima tahun. Tahun 1931, Sarekat Islam membuka Sekolah BPPI masa studi tujuh tahun. Di tahun 1937, Sarekat Islam membuka Sekolah Guru dengan masa studi empat tahun. Selain mendirikan sekolah formal (swasta), Sarekat Islam juga mendirikan Kepanduan Sarekat Islam Angkatan Pandu (SIAP) untuk melatih keterampilan muridmurid tamatan Sekolah Islamiyah dan Sekolah BPPI. Kedua, gerakan Sarekat Islam dalam bidang politik di Bolaang Mongondow dilakukan menggunakan tiga model gerakan, yaitu membuka kesempatan politik (political opportunity), melakukan pembingkaian (framing) dan memobilisasi sumber (resource mobilization). Ketiga, kontribusi pendidikan dan politik Sarekat Islam di Bolaang Mongondow adalah untuk menyadarkan dan membebaskan rakyat dari sistem pendidikan dan politik Kolonial Belanda, memunculkan elit baru terdidik, serta menumbuhkan wacana kemajuan dan semangat nasionalisme rakyat. Gerakan Sarekat Islam di Bolaang Mongondow dalam bidang pendidikan, khususnya dalam pendirian Sekolah Islamiyah yang kemudian berubah menjadi Sekolah BPPI, berbeda dengan sekolah yang didirikan Sarekat Islam di daerah lain, seperti Cirebon, Pekalongan, Pati, Majalengka, Kudus, Sukadana, Lampung dan Demak yang memakai nama Sarekat Islam School met de Qur’an sebagaimana penelitian Imas Emalia (2008). Pendidikan Sarekat Islam cenderung mengikuti teori humanisasi yang digagas oleh Paulo Freire (1997) dan sependapat dengan penelitian Mansur (2013) yang mengatakan bahwa pendidikan Sarekat Islam sebagai penyadaran dan pembebasan. Sementara pembahasan gerakan Sarekat Islam dilakukan mengikuti teori social movement yang dikembangkan McAdam, McCarthy, Zald (2004) dan Tarrow (1996). Penelitian ini tidak sependapat dengan tesis Yeon (2003) yang mengatakan bahwa Sarekat Islam seolah gagal dalam menumbuhkan semangat rakyat dan mengusahakan kepentingan rakyat dalam pergerakan Nasional. Yeon juga mengatakan bahwa sering terjadi konflik di internal Sarekat Islam, termasuk antara masyarakat dan Sarekat Islam itu sendiri. Menurut penelitian ini, tidak bisa melihat gerakan Sarekat Islam secara general gagal dalam pergerakannya. Karena di tempat lain, khususnya Bolaang Mongondow, gerakan Sarekat Islam justru berhasil dan tidak terjadi konflik, baik konflik secara internal organisasi atau partai maupun antara masyarakat dengan Sarekat Islam. Kesimpulan dari tesis ini adalah bahwa Sarekat Islam merupakan organisasi nasional pencetus awal pendidikan penyadaran dan pembebasan, serta pembuka kesempatan politik bagi rakyat Bolaang Mongondow, Sulawesi Utara.

The study shows that tolerance invites dialogs to communicate the existence of mutual recognition. Dari hasil pembahasan menemukan bahwa Jepang dapat membuat orang Idonesia menjadi sengsara jika dibandingkan dengan kolonialisasi Belanda. Tetapi pada masa ini, masyarakat Indonesia telah diberi kesempatan mengelola sebuah organisasi dengan sangat jelas. Masyarakat Muslim terbantu untuk berkomunikasi dengan ulama melalui kebijakan Jepang. Kebijakan itu direncanakan oleh Jepang untuk mengeksploitasi orang-orang Muslim dalam perang. Namun itu tidak benar, keberhasilan dan kemudian orang-orang Muslim mengambil situasi ini untuk memproklamasikan kebebasan sebagai Republik Indonesia.

Honestly, all religions teach us about goodness, good-relation life. Religious education is delivered by learning process with high awareness to honour each other, open-mind character, affection, conflict resolution and anti-violence as disconnection of the core of inevitable SARA conflict. This research is conducted on July to August, 2016 in State Senior High School 9 Manado, North Sulawesi. The method used qualitative approach with data from interview and field research. Finally, this research shows the religious education in Manado really respects the values of the tolerance among religious people by formal education in the school.

Therefore, it is a need to identify the learning material to establish undesrtanding through interfaith activities. Thre reserach was conducted in State Senior High School 9 of Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. This paper shows that school environment that is conducive for embedding values of religious tolerance. The realization of collaboration among the school community leads to the better tolerant life. These activities, non-Muslim students are participating and respecting each other. Muslim students are given times and direction for doing prayers such as dhuha as sunnah prayer and dhuhur and ashar as obligatory prayers. In fact, the result shows that that there has no conflict occurred which is caused by intolerance. Moreover, inhibiting factors of embedding process of values of religious tolerance in Islamic education in Public Senior High School 9 of Manado are, among others, levels of students' capability and emotional maturity which are not similar, the lack of teachers of Islamic, Catholic, Hindu and Buddhist educations, as well as the place for learning Islamic lesson is still functioned as musholla.

They could understand deeply the meaning of being religious. Therefore, it is a need to explore the process and medium of interaction in teaching Islam. This study was conducted in State High School 9, Manado City, North Sulawesi. In-depth interview and non-participant observation were conducted to collect data. Two months data collection was on 2016, from July to August. This paper shows that the way of teacher to deliver the learning material is the key to enhance students' acquisition. It is a skill how to life together in the multicultural society. This paper discusses three points; they are media, material, and process of learning. Finally, this paper reflects the condition in Manado to extend the harmony and tolerance since in the formal education. PENDAHULUAN Masyarakat dunia mendapatkan peristiwa dan aksi kekerasan yang muncul seperti anarkisme, perang, hingga terorisme global. Di Indonesia hal itu tampak sekali dalam pelbagai kasus konflik dan anarkisme akibat perbedaan pandangan, pendapat, pikiran, ideologi, etnik, dan bahkan agama.Hal itu, muncul di tengah-tengah kondisi bangsa yang kini terus didera masalah dan krisis berkepanjangan diberbagai bidang kehidupan. In the context of multireligious society, Islamic education taught in schools is required to embed values of religious tolerance. This paper discusses the embedding process of the values of religious tolerance within Islamic lesson in senior high school of Manado. The learning processes allow students chances to practice their religious lessons appropriately with their respective religions. In addition, they have the opportunity in creating learning atmosphere with religious diversity, building mutual trust among them, keeping mutual understanding each other, upholding mutual love, going deep into materials about tolerance and guiding and giving motivation to the students in doing activities relating to tolerance as by not differentiate Muslim and non-Muslim students.

Shrimp farming in particular, and aquaculture in general, are major contributors to local livelihoods and food security in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. However, as this industry expands, it will have to contend with issues pertaining to productivity, sustainability of the environment, and the long-term viability of the fishing industry. Innovations in shrimp breeding have been implemented in the area to solve these problems. The various effects of these advances on aquaculture productivity and the long-term viability of Sumbawa's fishing enterprises are examined in this qualitative investigation. The results show how innovation, productivity, sustainability, and the particular socio-environmental setting of the area interact in a complicated way. This study was conducted in State High School 9, Manado City, North Sulawesi. In-depth interview and non-participant observation were conducted to collect data. Two months data collection was on 2016, from July to August. This paper shows that the way of teacher to deliver the learning material is the key to enhance students' acquisition. It is a skill how to life together in the multicultural society. This paper discusses three points; they are media, material, and process of learning. Finally, this paper reflects the condition in Manado to extend the harmony and tolerance since in the formal education. PENDAHULUAN Masyarakat dunia mendapatkan peristiwa dan aksi kekerasan yang muncul seperti anarkisme, perang, hingga terorisme global. Di Indonesia hal itu tampak sekali dalam pelbagai kasus konflik dan anarkisme akibat perbedaan pandangan, pendapat, pikiran, ideologi, etnik, dan bahkan agama.Hal itu, muncul di tengah-tengah kondisi bangsa yang kini terus didera masalah dan krisis berkepanjangan diberbagai bidang kehidupan. Termasuk krisis dalam dunia pendidikan. Padahal, keinginan untuk menikmati kedamaian adalah dambaan semua orang (Alberts, 2010; Wekke, 2011). The learning processes allow students chances to practice their religious lessons appropriately with their respective religions. Therefore, this study discusses how role-playing can develop the social-emotional development aspects of early childhood in group B. This study uses classroom action research methodology. The research was conducted on 18 children in group B. The results of this study show the success of role-playing in developing the social-emotional aspects of early childhood. With an average score of 3.78, the quantitative results showed a moderate level of philosophical framework integration within the program. Pertama-tama, penting untuk menghormati tradisi dan nilai-nilai yang menjadi landasan dari pendidikan di pondok pesantren. Ini termasuk penghormatan terhadap kitab suci, tradisi keilmuan Islam, dan otoritas spiritual seperti para ulama dan kyai. Dalam konteks ini, siswa harus membuka diri untuk mengamati, mendengarkan, dan menghargai pengetahuan yang disampaikan oleh para guru dan pemimpin agama di pesantren. Kesadaran akan tradisi ini membantu siswa membangun dasar yang kokoh dalam pemahaman agama Islam. Kedua, penting untuk memperhatikan kurikulum yang disediakan oleh pondok pesantren tersebut. Bolaang Mongondow dikenal sebagai satu-satunya daerah di Sulawesi Utara yang sejak kedatangan Sarekat Islam, mayoritas penduduknya beragama Islam hingga sekarang ini. Itulah salah satu sebab organisasi Sarekat Islam dapat dengan mudah diterima dan berkembang dengan pesat di Bolaang Mongondow, dibandingkan dengan daerah-daerah lain di Sulawesi Utara.
Paling tidak, ada beberapa alasan mengapa buku ini penting ditulis. Pertama, Sarekat Islam adalah organisasi nasional pertama yang masuk ke Bolaang Mongondow, Sulawesi Utara. Kita ketahui bersama sebagaimana dalam banyak literatur bahwa di masa-masa Sarekat Islam berjaya, Belanda lagi gencar-gencarnya melalukan penjajahan di negeri ini, tidak terkecuali Bolaang Mongondow, dan Sarekat Islam menjadi salah satu yang berhadap-hadapan sebagai tandingan kolonial. Terlepas dari kekurangannya, tidak dapat dipungkiri ia memberi sumbangan besar terhadap perkembangan masyarakat Muslim Bolaang Mongondow dan Indonesia secara umum, utamanya dalam usaha memerdekakan bangsa Indonesia
Kedua, Sarekat Islam adalah organisasi pertama di Bolaang Mongondow yang peduli akan pendidikan masyarakat pribumi, terutama masyarakat Muslim kelas bawah yang sama sekali tidak mendapatkan akses untuk mengenyam pendidikan di sekolah pemerintah kolonial Belanda sebagai akibat dari adanya perbedaan dalam hal mendapatkan pendidikan antara anak pribumi dan anak Eropa. Dari sinilah, sejak tahun 1923, Sarekat Islam berusaha untuk mendirikan sekolah-sekolah bagi masyarakat pribumi lewat Balai Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Islamiah (BPPI). Melalui sekolah Sarekat Islam, tidak sedikit para alumninya yang menjadi elit terdidik Bolaang Mongondow di kemudian hari.
Ketiga, sejak awal Sarekat Islam fokus dan semangat untuk membangkitkan kekuatan ekonomi umat Muslim melalui berbagai bentuk kegiatan, baik dalam usaha penyadaran akan pentingnya umat Islam menguasai ekonomi dan kewirausahaan serta membangun jaringan usaha di antara masyarakat Muslim pribumi. Gerakan Sarekat Islam dalam bidang ekonomi ketika itu, tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata. Khusus di Bolaang Mongondow, hampir di semua desa telah dibuka koperasi-koperasi Sarekat Islam yang dikenal dengan Koperasi Khazanatullah. Suksesnya Koperasi Khazanatullah ketika itu menjadi kekuatan besar bagi Sarekat Islam dalam menjalankan dan menunjang misi politik, pendidikan dan kegiatan-kegiatan umat Islam lainnya, utamanya sebagai penguat organisasi di tengah politik Belanda. Sehingga dengan kesuksesan itu, diharapkan dapat menjadi motivasi besar dan spirit bagi Sarekat Islam di masa sekarang untuk membangun kembali gerakan ekonomi sebagaimana yang dilakukan para tokoh Sarekat Islam ketika itu.
Keempat, sejak tahun 1920-an, Bolaang Mongondow belum terikat sama sekali dengan ideologi partai politik apapun, kecuali ideologi yang berakar dari Sarekat Islam yang kemudian berubah menjadi Partai Sarekat Islam pada tahun 1930-an. Dengan demikin, tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa banyak tokoh yang lahir dari Sarekat Islam, utamanya tokoh-tokoh lokal Bolaang Mongondow sebagaimana penulis sebutkan di dalam buku ini. Tidak sedikit juga pemikiran mereka diberikan demi kemajuan Bolaang Mongondow, dan Indonesia pada umumnya. Tetapi berdasarkan penelusuran penulis, sangat jarang nama-nama mereka disebutkan dalam literatur-literatur yang tersedia, apalagi di era sekarang ini. Sehingga salah satu bagian penting dari buku ini adalah bisa menghadirkan tokoh-tokoh lokal Bolaang Mongondow yang sebenarnya jarang ditemukan di buku-buku sejarah yang ada. Tujuannya adalah agar para generasi sekarang bisa mengetahui lewat buku inipara tokoh Bolaang Mongondow yang pernah berjuang dalam rangka memerdekakan Indonesia, khususnya daerah Bolaang Mongondow.

During this time the Sarekat Islam movement adopted three models of action: exploiting political opportunities, setting appropriate goals, and mobilizing resources. This freed the Indonesian community from the Dutch political system, gave rise to a newly educated elite, and fostered a discourse of progress and the spirit of popular nationalism. In certain regions, especially in Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi, the Sarekat Islam movement encountered great success and there was largely an absence of internal conflict both among the member organizations / parties and between the broader community and Sarekat Islam. The paper argues that Sarekat Islam both laid the groundwork for increased political awareness and liberation and created political opportunities for the newly educated elite and the people of Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi.

Paling tidak, ada beberapa alasan mengapa buku ini penting ditulis. Pertama, Sarekat Islam adalah organisasi nasional pertama yang masuk ke Bolaang Mongondow, Sulawesi Utara. Kita ketahui bersama sebagaimana dalam banyak literatur bahwa di masa-masa Sarekat Islam berjaya, Belanda lagi gencar-gencarnya melalukan penjajahan di negeri ini, tidak terkecuali Bolaang Mongondow, dan Sarekat Islam menjadi salah satu yang berhadap-hadapan sebagai tandingan kolonial. Terlepas dari kekurangannya, tidak dapat dipungkiri ia memberi sumbangan besar terhadap perkembangan masyarakat Muslim Bolaang Mongondow dan Indonesia secara umum, utamanya dalam usaha memerdekakan bangsa Indonesia
Kedua, Sarekat Islam adalah organisasi pertama di Bolaang Mongondow yang peduli akan pendidikan masyarakat pribumi, terutama masyarakat Muslim kelas bawah yang sama sekali tidak mendapatkan akses untuk mengenyam pendidikan di sekolah pemerintah kolonial Belanda sebagai akibat dari adanya perbedaan dalam hal mendapatkan pendidikan antara anak pribumi dan anak Eropa. Dari sinilah, sejak tahun 1923, Sarekat Islam berusaha untuk mendirikan sekolah-sekolah bagi masyarakat pribumi lewat Balai Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Islamiah (BPPI). Melalui sekolah Sarekat Islam, tidak sedikit para alumninya yang menjadi elit terdidik Bolaang Mongondow di kemudian hari.
Ketiga, sejak awal Sarekat Islam fokus dan semangat untuk membangkitkan kekuatan ekonomi umat Muslim melalui berbagai bentuk kegiatan, baik dalam usaha penyadaran akan pentingnya umat Islam menguasai ekonomi dan kewirausahaan serta membangun jaringan usaha di antara masyarakat Muslim pribumi. Gerakan Sarekat Islam dalam bidang ekonomi ketika itu, tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata.
