Religious culture in the village of Temboro, which made it is known as "Kampung Madinah"... more Religious culture in the village of Temboro, which made it is known as "Kampung Madinah", certainly did not happen suddenly, but there was a process of formation and role of Kiai and Pesantren Al-Fatah. This study aims to analyze the Kiai’s cultural strategy in developing a religious culture using a phenomenological approach and collects data through in-depth interviews, active participant observation, and documentation. The study results show that, firstly, ideological culture is the strategy of the Kiai in shaping the religious culture of the Temboro community. Secondly, the ideological culture of the Tablighi Jamaat has an impact on changing the five religious cultures of the Temboro community, namely: (1) ideological faith, (2) normative Islam, (3) Sufistic religious experience, (4) moderate-textual religious knowledge, (5) Maqami-intiqali practice.

Spiritual leadership is a typology of kiai based on the values of Islamic spirituality. This study examines the source of authority of the spiritual leadership of the kiai using perspective of Weber's authority theory. Using the approach of religious phenomenology, this study observes phenomenologically the spiritual leadership of kiai at Pesantren al-Fatah (or known as Pesantren Temboro), which became the center of the biggest ideology of Jamaah Tabligh in Southeast Asia. Research data was obtained through in-depth interviews, active participation, documentation, and open questionnaires. Similarly, the achievement of a school/madrasa is also determined by the manager. If the manager is highly qualified, then the institution will consequently enhance its performance, and vice versa. This article describes the management of human resource quality development in MAN Pamekasan. It focuses on planning, staffing, coaching, staff promotion, mutation, and dismissal as well as evaluation and compensation. By means of observation, interviews, and documentation, it is found that MAN Pamekasan manages staff and other human resources satisfactorily; at least it has achieved the standard stipulated by the government. Abstrak Keberhasilan suatu usaha sangat erat kaitannya dengan kualitas orang yang melakukan usaha tersebut. Begitupula keberhasilan sekolah/madrasah juga ditentukan oleh para pengelolanya. Apabila para pengelola sekolah/madrasah berkualitas maka lembaga tersebut akan mengalami kemajuan dan memiliki mutu yang baik begitupula jika sebaliknya. Oleh karena itu artikel ini mendiskripsikan manajemen peningkatan mutu ketenagaan dan sumber daya manusia yang mana dalam hal ini man pamekasan dijadikan sebagai objek penelitian. Hal yang menjadi fokus kajiannya adalah perencanaan, pengadaan pegawai, pembinaan dan pengembangan, promosi, mutasi, dan pemberhentian pegawai, serta penilaian dan kompensasi pegawai di man pamekasan. This study was designed to find the management of ICT-based Arabic learning in MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka. This study proposed that the integration between various fields of studies and ICT, including Arabic language learning, is urgently needed in this digital era. However, there are a number of problems experienced by some institutions, such as the absence of clear format on the use of ICT in the effort of integrating both disciplines. This study applied a qualitative research approach with descriptive research method. The data were collected by conducting observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analysed using the qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the design of ICT-based Arabic learning model which can be developed at MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka is a communicative computer-based Arabic learning model. This model is implemented through setting the objectives, selecting the materials and the media, and developing evaluation procedures. The materials and other learning tools are designed using computer programs. Through this learning model, teachers served as learning motivator and facilitator elaborating the materials that need further clarification. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembelajaran bahasa Arab berbasis TIK (Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi) di MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka. This quantitative research of the correlational model aims to analyze the influence of compensati... more This quantitative research of the correlational model aims to analyze the influence of compensation (X1) and job satisfaction (X2) towards lecturers' performance (Y) while it is being controlled with organizational commitment (Z) which is based on the theory of two factors proposed by Frederick Herzberg. The results of the comparison between bivariate correlation coefficient (X1 =compensation Y = compensation and lecturers' performance) and partial correlation coefficients (X = compensation, Z = organizational commitment, and Y = lecturers' performance) indicates that ryx1 > ryx1z i.e. 0317 > 0268. This means that the compensation affects lecturers' performance which is mediated by the organizational commitment. The result of the regression proves the value of β1= 0.153 and β2= 0.383, in which compensation and commitment contribute to the enhancement of lecturers' performance up to 54%. This signifies that once the lecturers are granted high amount of compensation and hold distinctive organizational commitment, then it will increase their performance up to 54%. Regarding job satisfaction, the result shows significant bivariate correlation (X2 = job satisfaction, and Y = lecturers' performance) i.e. 0.001 < α 0.10, and insignificant partial correlation (X2 = job satisfaction, Z = organizational commitment, and Y = lecturers' performance) considering that it should pass 0086 > α 0.10 to be significant. Thus, indeed job satisfaction is in line with lecturers' performance. Meanwhile, the regression shows that the job satisfaction regression coefficient (β) is accounted for 0.267, in which job satisfaction contributes to the improvement of lecturers' performance up to 27%. This suggests that lecturers with high level of job satisfaction are likely to increase their performance up to 27%, even though they do not hold organizational commitment.

This research is a field research using qualitative approach. Data collection is done through observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that JAWS Computer Service Management in PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta includes several management functions, the first, the planning of the PLD chairman determines the schedule of activities. Second, the organizing of the PLD chair divides the duties of each position. Third, the implementation of all PLD members who have been tasked by the leader perform their duties respectively. Fourth, supervision of all activities in the PLD is always monitored and held a regular meeting to find out the problems faced so that can be solved together. Benefits of the existence of JAWS computer service is to increase knowledge of technology for blind students and train the independence of blind students in doing lecture tasks that blessed with typing as well as paper assignments, thesis and so on. The factors supporting the implementation of JAWS computer service that is the spirit of learning blind students and the help of PLD volunteers. For the inhibiting factor is the number of JAWS computers are very limited so they have to take turns in using it. Using the literature review of earlier documents and research results, this study demonstrates that the optimization of classroom management is done by enabling all components, including schools and parents as moral communities that share responsibilities and roles to prevent and overcome bad behaviors of students embodied in the form of exemplary personality. The optimization of parent collaboration can create a unified communications with educational institutions in schools to avoid continuity of student disrespectful behavior. Behavioral approaches and integrated learning can improve a series of positive activities to overcome the disruptions that occur in the classroom. The readiness of a teacher in the mastery of intervention management becomes important as a form of teacher support for student behavioral action with the right target. Integration of values in the school curriculum is needed as an effort to overcome bad behavior so that students have a good character person. This is a qualitative research, with data collection method using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using data reduction, the presentation of data and verified after it is drawn a conclusion. This is a field research with qualitative approach. This research is a descriptive analytic research, data collection is done by interview, observation and documentation. The collected data is then analyzed and described in narrative form. The results of this study indicate that Madrasah Based Management requires the head of madrasah to be able to perform its role as manager in improving the quality of education and the existence of madrasah. The head of a madrasah as a manager can perform his managerial process by empowering teachers and staff in accordance with their capacity and duties, then by involving all stakeholders to support the madrasah program. A madrasah head should be able to set an example, provide evaluation and direction and be responsible and accountable for its policies. A pesantren led by this type of Kiai will be enlightened and considerably motivated to achieve clear long term objectives and planning. For instance, the best Islamic education system concept is pesantren with its ideal madrasah. Moreover, generally pesantren has its own feature in which the entire elements reside within the pesantren constantly obey the existing procedures. This has emerged as the result of strong obedience culture toward the Kiai who owns the greatest authority inside the pesantren and its surrounding environment. This article attempts to discuss the significance of knowledge map implementation within organization by firstly defining knowledge and knowledge map, and then the " who " of knowledge map, the underlaying assumption of knowledge map creation, the technology of knowledge map, the dynamic knowledge map, and lastly knowledge map in academic world. It is concluded that knowledge map is an overarching device urgently needed by organization including academic institutions. Abstrak Baru-baru ini, perbincangan mengenai manajemen pengetahuan, khususnya terkait dengan peta pengetahuan mendapat perhatian khusus dari para theorist maupun praktisi manajemen. Peta pengetahuan dianggap sebagai alat yang penting bagi pengembangan performa organisasi karena peta pengetahuan dapat memebrikan gambaran yang menyeluruh mengenai asset organisasi, baik yang berupa asset yang tampak maupun aet yang tidak tampak. Tulisan ini membahas tentang signifikansi penerapan peta pengetahuan dalam organisasi dengan pertama-tama mendefinisikan pengetahuan dan peta pengetahuan, kemudian siapa saja yang terlibat dalam peta pengetahuan, asumsi dasar pembuatan peta pengetahuan, teknologi peta pengetahuan, peta pengetahuan dinamis, dan peta pengetahuan dalam dunia akademik. Dapt disimpulkan bahwa peta pengetahuan adalah komponen utama yang mendesak untuk diterapkan dalam organisasi termasuk dalam organisasi pendidikan.
When the word " Islam " is attached to the subject " Education Management " and become " Islamic ... more When the word " Islam " is attached to the subject " Education Management " and become " Islamic Education Management " it would rise a question whether or not it is a science? If It is a science, what is the assurance that truly represent it as a science? This paper tries to proof that Islamic education management could be considered as a science and it bears its own scientific paradigm. The analysis employs the critical realism school of Stephen Ackroyd in the philosophy of management as well as numbers of episthemeological issues of organizational practices by Frits Schipper that are brought to the context of Islamic education. The analysis shows that the formal object of Islamic education management is management science, whereas, its material object is management practices of educational activities in Islamic education institutions such as madrasah, pesantren (boarding school) dan Islamic schools. The researches in Islamic education management focus on facts, context, event and cases happened in that institutions, by not merely attaching Qur'anic verses in the existing theory of education management, so that it looks Islamic, since the Qur'an is also contextual with its asbabun nuzul (the causes of revelation) concept. Abstrak Saat nama 'Islam' ditempelkan pada 'Manajemen Pendidikan' menjadi 'Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI)', timbul pertanyaan, apakah ia sudah layak disebut ilmu? This is a qualitative research using non participatory observation method, interview and documentations as its data collection. The result shows that: (1). MTs Donomulyo employs assistance as the academic supervision concept, (2). the academic supervision programs applied to improve teachers performances are training and development for individual teachers or in group, (3). Madrasa's headmaster's role in the improvement of teachers' performances involves guiding them in the form of giving motivation, encouragement, as well as giving examples. Religious culture in the village of Temboro, which made it is known as "Kampung Madinah"... more Religious culture in the village of Temboro, which made it is known as "Kampung Madinah", certainly did not happen suddenly, but there was a process of formation and role of Kiai and Pesantren Al-Fatah. This study aims to analyze the Kiai’s cultural strategy in developing a religious culture using a phenomenological approach and collects data through in-depth interviews, active participant observation, and documentation. The study results show that, firstly, ideological culture is the strategy of the Kiai in shaping the religious culture of the Temboro community. Secondly, the ideological culture of the Tablighi Jamaat has an impact on changing the five religious cultures of the Temboro community, namely: (1) ideological faith, (2) normative Islam, (3) Sufistic religious experience, (4) moderate-textual religious knowledge, (5) Maqami-intiqali practice.

This study examines the source of authority of the spiritual leadership of the kiai using perspective of Weber's authority theory. Using the approach of religious phenomenology, this study observes phenomenologically the spiritual leadership of kiai at Pesantren al-Fatah (or known as Pesantren Temboro), which became the center of the biggest ideology of Jamaah Tabligh in Southeast Asia. Similarly, the achievement of a school/madrasa is also determined by the manager. If the manager is highly qualified, then the institution will consequently enhance its performance, and vice versa. This article describes the management of human resource quality development in MAN Pamekasan. It focuses on planning, staffing, coaching, staff promotion, mutation, and dismissal as well as evaluation and compensation. By means of observation, interviews, and documentation, it is found that MAN Pamekasan manages staff and other human resources satisfactorily; at least it has achieved the standard stipulated by the government. Abstrak Keberhasilan suatu usaha sangat erat kaitannya dengan kualitas orang yang melakukan usaha tersebut. Begitupula keberhasilan sekolah/madrasah juga ditentukan oleh para pengelolanya. Apabila para pengelola sekolah/madrasah berkualitas maka lembaga tersebut akan mengalami kemajuan dan memiliki mutu yang baik begitupula jika sebaliknya. This study was designed to find the management of ICT-based Arabic learning in MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka. This study proposed that the integration between various fields of studies and ICT, including Arabic language learning, is urgently needed in this digital era. However, there are a number of problems experienced by some institutions, such as the absence of clear format on the use of ICT in the effort of integrating both disciplines. This study applied a qualitative research approach with descriptive research method. The data were collected by conducting observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analysed using the qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the design of ICT-based Arabic learning model which can be developed at MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka is a communicative computer-based Arabic learning model. This model is implemented through setting the objectives, selecting the materials and the media, and developing evaluation procedures. The materials and other learning tools are designed using computer programs. Through this learning model, teachers served as learning motivator and facilitator elaborating the materials that need further clarification. This quantitative research of the correlational model aims to analyze the influence of compensati... more This quantitative research of the correlational model aims to analyze the influence of compensation (X1) and job satisfaction (X2) towards lecturers' performance (Y) while it is being controlled with organizational commitment (Z) which is based on the theory of two factors proposed by Frederick Herzberg. The results of the comparison between bivariate correlation coefficient (X1 =compensation Y = compensation and lecturers' performance) and partial correlation coefficients (X = compensation, Z = organizational commitment, and Y = lecturers' performance) indicates that ryx1 > ryx1z i.e. 0317 > 0268. This means that the compensation affects lecturers' performance which is mediated by the organizational commitment. The result of the regression proves the value of β1= 0.153 and β2= 0.383, in which compensation and commitment contribute to the enhancement of lecturers' performance up to 54%. This signifies that once the lecturers are granted high amount of compensation and hold distinctive organizational commitment, then it will increase their performance up to 54%. Regarding job satisfaction, the result shows significant bivariate correlation (X2 = job satisfaction, and Y = lecturers' performance) i.e. 0.001 < α 0.10, and insignificant partial correlation (X2 = job satisfaction, Z = organizational commitment, and Y = lecturers' performance) considering that it should pass 0086 > α 0.10 to be significant. Thus, indeed job satisfaction is in line with lecturers' performance. Meanwhile, the regression shows that the job satisfaction regression coefficient (β) is accounted for 0.267, in which job satisfaction contributes to the improvement of lecturers' performance up to 27%. This suggests that lecturers with high level of job satisfaction are likely to increase their performance up to 27%, even though they do not hold organizational commitment.

This research is a field research using qualitative approach. Data collection is done through observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that JAWS Computer Service Management in PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta includes several management functions, the first, the planning of the PLD chairman determines the schedule of activities. Second, the organizing of the PLD chair divides the duties of each position. Third, the implementation of all PLD members who have been tasked by the leader perform their duties respectively. Fourth, supervision of all activities in the PLD is always monitored and held a regular meeting to find out the problems faced so that can be solved together. Benefits of the existence of JAWS computer service is to increase knowledge of technology for blind students and train the independence of blind students in doing lecture tasks that blessed with typing as well as paper assignments, thesis and so on. The factors supporting the implementation of JAWS computer service that is the spirit of learning blind students and the help of PLD volunteers. The collected data is then analyzed and described in narrative form. The results of this study indicate that Madrasah Based Management requires the head of madrasah to be able to perform its role as manager in improving the quality of education and the existence of madrasah. The head of a madrasah as a manager can perform his managerial process by empowering teachers and staff in accordance with their capacity and duties, then by involving all stakeholders to support the madrasah program. A madrasah head should be able to set an example, provide evaluation and direction and be responsible and accountable for its policies. Principal leadership plays a key role in building public trust and optimal academic service quality, one of which is by placing an organization's competitive edge as the core value of the institution. This study aims to assess principal leadership based on core values, characteristics of school quality implementation and the implementation concept of quality assurance system. Using bibliographic data, this study identifies that leadership with quality assurance has a relation to a value system built on a vision that is imbued with every citizen of the school. The vision of leadership based on mutually agreed values has spawned the excellence of schools amid the proliferation of educational institutions. Educational institutions are not viewed as social investments, but educational institutions have become noble industries. Based on these explanations, the principal's leadership needs to have different views on the quality assurance paradigm for services in services with goods services. This also applies for those who constitute the Kiai's assistants. A pesantren led by this type of Kiai will be enlightened and considerably motivated to achieve clear long term objectives and planning. For instance, the best Islamic education system concept is pesantren with its ideal madrasah. Moreover, generally pesantren has its own feature in which the entire elements reside within the pesantren constantly obey the existing procedures. This has emerged as the result of strong obedience culture toward the Kiai who owns the greatest authority inside the pesantren and its surrounding environment. However the level of obedience will vary according to 'government system' implemented by each pesantren. Those pesantren also employ different strategies in their education system. Knowledge map has been considered as important tool to improve organization performance as it provides thorough pictures of organization assets, either the tangible or the intangible resources. This article attempts to discuss the significance of knowledge map implementation within organization by firstly defining knowledge and knowledge map, and then the " who " of knowledge map, the underlaying assumption of knowledge map creation, the technology of knowledge map, the dynamic knowledge map, and lastly knowledge map in academic world. It is concluded that knowledge map is an overarching device urgently needed by organization including academic institutions. Abstrak Baru-baru ini, perbincangan mengenai manajemen pengetahuan, khususnya terkait dengan peta pengetahuan mendapat perhatian khusus dari para theorist maupun praktisi manajemen. Peta pengetahuan dianggap sebagai alat yang penting bagi pengembangan performa organisasi karena peta pengetahuan dapat memebrikan gambaran yang menyeluruh mengenai asset organisasi, baik yang berupa asset yang tampak maupun aet yang tidak tampak. Tulisan ini membahas tentang signifikansi penerapan peta pengetahuan dalam organisasi dengan pertama-tama mendefinisikan pengetahuan dan peta pengetahuan, kemudian siapa saja yang terlibat dalam peta pengetahuan, asumsi dasar pembuatan peta pengetahuan, teknologi peta pengetahuan, peta pengetahuan dinamis, dan peta pengetahuan dalam dunia akademik. When the word " Islam " is attached to the subject " Education Management " and become " Islamic ... more When the word " Islam " is attached to the subject " Education Management " and become " Islamic Education Management " it would rise a question whether or not it is a science? If It is a science, what is the assurance that truly represent it as a science? This paper tries to proof that Islamic education management could be considered as a science and it bears its own scientific paradigm. The analysis employs the critical realism school of Stephen Ackroyd in the philosophy of management as well as numbers of episthemeological issues of organizational practices by Frits Schipper that are brought to the context of Islamic education. The analysis shows that the formal object of Islamic education management is management science, whereas, its material object is management practices of educational activities in Islamic education institutions such as madrasah, pesantren (boarding school) dan Islamic schools. The researches in Islamic education management focus on facts, context, event and cases happened in that institutions, by not merely attaching Qur'anic verses in the existing theory of education management, so that it looks Islamic, since the Qur'an is also contextual with its asbabun nuzul (the causes of revelation) concept. Abstrak Saat nama 'Islam' ditempelkan pada 'Manajemen Pendidikan' menjadi 'Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI)', timbul pertanyaan, apakah ia sudah layak disebut ilmu? Jika sudah, muncul pertanyaan, apa yang menjamin bahwa ia benar-benar telah merepresentasikan sebuah ilmu? Artikel ini bermaksud membuktikan bahwa MPI bisa menjadi sebuah ilmu dan memiliki paradigma keilmuannya sendiri. This research explores the role of Madrasa's headmaster as an academic supervisor to improve teac... more This research explores the role of Madrasa's headmaster as an academic supervisor to improve teacher's performance in State Islamic Junior High School (MTs) of Donomulyo, Kulon progo, Yogyakarta. This is a qualitative research using non participatory observation method, interview and documentations as its data collection. The result shows that: (1). MTs Donomulyo employs assistance as the academic supervision concept, (2). the academic supervision programs applied to improve teachers performances are training and development for individual teachers or in group, (3). Madrasa's headmaster's role in the improvement of teachers' performances involves guiding them in the form of giving motivation, encouragement, as well as giving examples. Beside that, he is also sometimes suggest for a solution, help, building commitment and training. Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas tentang peran kepala madrasah yang bertindak sebagai supervisor akademik untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru di MTs Negeri Donomulyo Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa observasi nonpartisipatif, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Konsep supervisi akademik yang dikembangkan MTs Negeri Donomulyo adalah asistensi. (2) Bentuk-bentuk program supervisi akademik untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru adalah pembinaan dan pelatihan melalui teknik individu dan kelompok. (3) Peran kepala madrasah untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru meliputi pengarahan dengan cara memotivasi, memberikan semangat, dan keteladanan serta pembimbingan dengan memberikan solusi, bantuan, pembinaan serta pelatihan.
