Alberto Delfin Arrufat Cárdava
Alberto-Delfín Arrufat Cárdava is Law Degree (University of Valencia (UV), 2000), Master in Business Administration (CEU, 2001), PhD in Law (Universitat Jaume I, 2008) and Official Master in Business Administration (UCH-CEU, 2014).
From the teaching perspective, he has full experience in the Area of International Law as associate professor at the University of Valencia (2004-2011), University Jaume I of Castellón (2005-2007), the University CEU Cardenal Herrera (2007-2009), Estema Foundation (2004-2009), European University of Madrid (2009-2011). He has experience in online training as an external consultant at the Open University of Catalonia (2009-2016). Accredited as Profesor Contratado Doctor by Spanish Agency for Quality in university teaching (2009). Since 2011, he is Lecturer of International Law at the Catholic University of Valencia. He teaches in undergraduate and graduate, focused on the public and private international law and related subjects (EU Law, development cooperation, foreign policy of subnational entities, ius in bello, International Law of Human rights). He has given conferences in different Universities (Argentina 2002, Sacro Cuore Milan, 2012; University degli studio di Palermo, 2015, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, 2014 and European Parliament 2017). He has given two conferences invited by Broseta Foundation of terrorism victims related to the European Court of Human Rights (2014) and “international action against Terrorism in TIC´s” (2015). In addition, he prepares civil servants for Valencia City Council (2007-2016) and he has taught Master classes in several business schools (Trade & Human Rights; European trade policy, etc.). He has participated in teaching innovation projects (UV, 2011). From 2013 he is Faculty Coacher for National Model of United Nations and Lovaine Moot Court Competition.
As Researcher, he has researched in different Centres (United Nations Library, Geneva, 2010; International Court of Justice, 2010). With the exception of his doctoral thesis (1st Award Valencia Regional parliamentary assembly 2010 Thesis competition; 1st Award Valencia Regional ECOSOC 2010 Thesis competition; Certificate of Excellence Committee of the Regions (European Union) Thesis Competition, 2010), his main research has been focused on the relationship between International trade and Human rights and Human Rights and Rule of Law in War conflicts. He is the author of two monographs ("Autonomic Assemblies and External Action" Corts, 2010 and "The international projection of the CCAA: the case of the CVA, Tirant 2013"), several articles in scientific journals (EUJUST LEX Iraq: ¿volvemos a Irak? “ RGDE, 2011, Q1; REDI, 2014, Q1), chapters on collective monographs (“UE Integrated Rule of Law Mission in Iraq: the Challenge to stay when others leave” in Mainstreaming Human Rights in EU CSDP Mission, 2012) and Coordinator of the Chronicle of International Trade in Revista Electrónica de Estudios Internacionales (REEI, Q2) As member of the Centro de Estudios de Derecho y Relaciones Internacionales (CEDRI) and the Instituto de Estudios Europeos (IEE-UCV), he takes part as Principal and Ordinary researcher in researching projects related to his field of knowledge that have obtained funds, in competitive contests, from the European Commission (Marie Curie 2009, Jean Monnet, 2014), the Spanish Science Office (MEC Coordinated, 2014) and Generalitat Valenciana regional Government (Emergente, 2015). Actually he is IP of “Farmacy 2.0: international questions related to online sell of medicines” research project. He is also author of several chapters in textbooks (“Sistemas de resolución de controversias” in Sanchez V. “Derecho International Público”, HUIGENS, 2013). Director of three doctoral theses, one defended (Del Romero Sanchez Cutillas, C: "The development cooperation as part of the regional external action: an analysis of development cooperation displayed by the Generalitat Valenciana." EXCCUML 2015) and some Final Degree Work and Final Master Work related to Human Rights, International and European Law.
In the Administrative positions dimension, since 2011, he has been Academic Secretary of Faculty of Law (2011-2013), Vice-Dean of Faculty of Law (2011-2017) and coordinator of International Exchange (2013-2017); in addition, he is module co-coordinator of “International and Constitutional guardianship of Human Rights” in Master for Spanish Bar Exam.
From the professional perspective, he is member of the Layers Professional Association. He has been contracted as External Legal Advisor at NATO Betera Headquarter (since 2013) in Hirex 13, Trident Jaguar (2014) and Trident Juncture (2015) and Brillant Falcon exercise (2016). His experience managing European projects gives to he the adequate knowledge of financial procedures of the EU. In 2017, he has been contracted as an expert by the European Commission for evaluate european projects.
