What behaviors form the basis for such a mentality? Towards what kind of economic mentality is humankind heading? These are some of the initial questions asked by Patrici Calvo (PhD) in The Cordial Economy—Ethics, Recognition and Reciprocity, a fresh, contemporary, interdisciplinary work that studies the parameters of human economic behavior concerned mainly with the processes of ethical relationships between human beings and decision-making

This study aims to provide empirical evidence on perceptions of how serious a problem research misconduct is in these two disciplines in Spain, particularly regarding the effects that the model used to evaluate academics' research performance may have on their ethical behaviour. The methodological triangulation applied in the study combines a questionnaire, a debate at the annual meeting of scientific association, and in-depth interviews. Of the 541 questionnaires sent out, 201 responses were obtained (37.1% of the total sample), with a significant difference in the participation of researchers in philosophy (30.5%) and in ethics (52.8%); 26 researchers took part in the debate and 14 interviews were conducted. The questionnaire results reveal that 91.5% of the respondents considered research misconduct to be on the rise; 63.2% considered at least three of the fraudulent practices referred to in the study to be commonplace, and 84.1% identified two or more such practices. The researchers perceived a high prevalence of duplicate publication (66.5%) and self-plagiarism (59.0%), use of personal influence (57.5%) and citation manipulation (44.0%), in contrast to a low perceived incidence of data falsification or fabrication (10.0%). The debate and the interviews corroborated these data. Researchers associated the spread of these misconducts with the research evaluation model applied in Spain.

The neuroscientific turnabout that played a leading role in neuroscience as of the 1990s echoed t... more The neuroscientific turnabout that played a leading role in neuroscience as of the 1990s echoed the need to deeply examine the social and humanistic area of human beings. This turnabout mainly took place due to the interest shown by neuroscience in not only studying isolated cognitive phenomena, but in also understanding the actions that humans undertake in society from a brain perspective (Adolphs, 2010). Social neurosciences, such as neuroeconomy, neuromarketing, neuropolitics and neuroethics, among others, started to develop about that time.
Two decades after neuroethics was born in the 2002 San Francisco Conference, this discipline appears to have considerably developed. Although neuroethics was initially born from bioethics, and became known as an ethics applied to study and treat the human brain, it began to obtain great methodological relevance due to the employment of neuroscientific techniques, particularly fMRI (Farah, 2011).
Troughout these years, neuroethics has been considered mainly in two ways. First, as an applied ethics to clinical practice in the tratment of the brain. Second, as an attempt to be a fundamental ethics, trying to study physiological bases that intervene in the Cognitive and affective processing of human morality taking into account: moral judgments, freedom, prejudices, empathy, solidarity, etc. (Salles, 2013).
Any progress made in studying the human morale, but bearing in mind the neuroscientific perspective this time, will make no sense if we are unable to teach and transmit it. As its own field of study, neuroeducation has contributed to the teaching-learning process in general, especially in understanding how the human brain learns, and in analysing pedagogic assumptions in the light of neurosciences (Ansari et al., 2011; Campbell, 2011). Although the majority of its contributions refer to language, mathematical thinking (Tokuhama-Espinosa, 2011), chronoeducation and learning times, and even to the physiological relations of sleeping with learning, there have been also studies referring to neuroeducation and ethics (Cortina, 2011; García-Marzá & Feenstra, 2013). Social capacities such as empathy, predispositions and emotions associated with prosociality and the correct exercise of executive faculties and functions such as reason, memory or imagination can be educated, thus channeling moral development in the epigenesis of the student.
In this sense, would moral neuroeducation be possible? Would it be morally demanding that the results and conclusions of neuroethics be incorporated into moral education? What would be the possibilities and limits of neuroethics and neuroeducation for an ethics of the s. XXI? What can neuroscience say about the processes of endoculturation, epigenesis and education in social and moral behavior? Recerca welcome contributions from a theoretical and critical perspective as well as those taking an empirical approach, from both case or studies or a comparative perspective.

Abstract. Management literature for women acts as an education tool or a guide for those women who wish to fill a gap in top business management positions. Therefore, it is essential to consider, from a moral viewpoint, what values and behaviors that this literature promotes. This is done by recognising that neurosciences have provided many justifications for such discourse, but must be critically reviewed. The objective of this study is to examine management literature works that have addressed women in recent years, especially those that present justifications supported by neuroscientific " evidence ". Then, we will point out the risks of this literature in order to achieve an equal presence of women in corporate management.

The first objective is to reflect on the relation between the basic assumptions that define the current conceptualization of education. Keeping an interdisciplinary dialogue, the second objective is to analyse some of the neuromyths in the teachinglearning process. The third objective is to find certain neuromyths in moral education, especially from what some of the most important authors in neuroethics have established about the moral behaviour according to studies of the human brain. Through and argumentative methodology, we will propose an orientative dialogue and interdisciplinar direction in the development of this new social neuroscience, always maintaining an ethical commitment to the full development of human beings in the pursuit of universal justice demands proposed.

Abstract: Professor Kathinka Evers is one of the coordinators of the philosophy area concerning consciousness of the Human Brain Project (HBP). Based on works in neuroscience, biology and philosophy, her proactive epigenesis proposal maintains that there is an inevitable cultural symbiogenesis in which genes have influence on human character and behavior in the same way as human actions and behavior can influence genetic variations in subsequent generations. The aim of this paper is to analyze this proposal in order to account for the importance of ethics and education in culture, and opposing more materialistic and reductionist views of neuroethics.

This article identifies problems in both of these neuroethical positions. The identification of these problems will show a link between them that until now has not been broadly discussed or explained. Taking into account that human free will is not absolute but instead conditioned by various possibilities among which subjects must choose, and based on an emergentist position, this paper will attempt to draw a correlation between free will and the conscious veto, a term introduced by Benjamin Libet in his study of readiness potential. Based on this correlation, the conscious veto can be interpreted as a possibility of free will, and therefore, a new reading will be needed of Libet’s results from the emergentist perspective, not exclusively from the determinist tendencies that have predominated in previous studies.

This article shows the importance of maintaining caution in the area of neurolaw because of its risk of becoming a new power that is free from ethical discussion. Neuroeducation stands for a new opportunity to study how the brain learns through a union of cognitive neuroscience techniques and the teaching practice. On the one hand, its clinical aspect works primarily on the detection of clinical disorders and the possibilities and risks of psychopharmacology treatment (Stein et al., 2011). On the other hand, its non-clinical aspect works especially in how the study of neural basis can help to design methodologies to teach accordingly to the brain, and also the study of neuromyths (Tokuhama-Espinosa, 2011).
Neuroeducation defines neuromyths generally as false ideas, believes, interpretations or extrapolations that have permeated deeply into public opinion despite having been banished or invalidated by neuroscience. They are usually simple explanations or unproved hypotheses, but pervasive into the public opinion due to the spread in the media. Some of the most studied neuromyths are: the conditioning of learning at three years; humans use only 10% of the brain; the brain hemispheric lateralization; or preferred learning styles (VAK) (OECD, 2007). All these neuromyths refer to the apprenticeship model of teaching in general, but there are also neuromyths in moral education.
The main purpose of this presentation is to highlight that some contributions of neuroethics to moral education could be neuromyths. We refer especially to those which are raised in a monological neurorrationality inserted in a reductionist and materialistic view of the mind. Some of these neuromyths in moral education could be: we are hardwired to develop sympathy with people close to us —family, friends— but not with the distant people (Churchland, 2011); freedom is a brain fiction that works socially (Rubia, 2009); or it is better to educate in intuition that in moral reasoning because it is faster and requires less effort (Haidt, 2001). The fostering of these neuromyths in moral education will not allow us to achieve the post-conventional level of moral development in terms of L. Kohlberg, and much less to achieve global justice criteria in a world that increasingly need them.
normative and methodological relevance increases progressively. It seems that neuroimaging techniques allow in depth interpretations of issue that philosophy has studied all along, such as relationships between brainmind, free will-determinism, emotion-reason or consequentialismdeontologism. From a philosophical point of view neuroethics is not without a thorough analysis of the results of their inquiries and their interpretations, so as not to confuse terms that lead us to believe in a brain moral determinism.
In this paper are shown some of these relationships at the neural and moral level, trying to prove that social neuroscience and some moral philosophical theories affect the same assumptions, but from different points of view. The main hypothesis is that social perception of others is the first step as in a moral theory as in a social neuroscience scenario. In this sense, could the discoveries of social neuroscience, in relation with human perception about the others, give support to the theory of discourse ethics in the first step ‒perception‒ as a moral theory?
Taking in account that human freedom is not absolute, but determined by diverse possibilities between which the subject must choose, I try to establish a correlation between free will and the term “conscious veto”, introduced by Libet, and previously by Kornhuber and Deecke, in their study of the readiness potential ‒ a change in the electrical activity of the brain that happens before the subject’s decision. The ability to inhibit a voluntary action that Libet identified might be interpreted as a possibility of free human action within the deterministic position. Assuming this common point between neurodeterminism and free will means that our ability to act ‒ notably moral action ‒ would be formulated in a negative sense. That is, humans do not possess a capacity for free will to perform an action chosen from all available, but to choose not to perform a certain action.
The confirmation of this hypothesis would have consequences for applied ethics ‒ especially for bioethics and neuroethics ‒ and introduce a new way of thinking about human action that might influence justice and education. It could change our vision of the authorship of a certain action, because the reason of doing an action will not be just in the brain or just in our volition, the cause will be shared by our anticipatory decision of our brain and our volitional control for not doing that. Moral education would not focus on giving reasons for some actions, but on justifying why to refrain from some actions.
What has been lost sight of is the fact that moral values are immanent to life in school, that is, education has an inescapable moral dimension. However, this is not only with regard to character education in the hidden curriculum, but rather to how and with what methods character educations should be undertaken.
