Pedro Company
Born in 1959 in Xátiva, province of Valencia (Spain). Industrial Engineering by Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in 1985, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering by the same university in 1989. He started as Engineering Graphics’ assistant professor at UPV in 1985, where he was professor from 1990 up to 1994. He joined Jaume I University (UJI) in 1994. Since 1996 he is Engineering Graphics’ Full professor ("catedrático") at UJI, as well as Head of Technology Department from 1995 up to 2005.
He teaches Engineering Graphics’ mainly in Industrial Engineering, but also in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design. He has authored some textbooks on "Geometrical Design", "Standardized drawings", “Industrial drawings” and “Computer-Aided Design”.
His research fields of interest are centered on Computer Aided Design, Computer Graphics and Sketch-Based Modeling; with more than 50 research papers and communications published on those areas. He has been involved too in Emotional Design and Collaborative Product Engineering. Now he is taking part in the development and applicability of a new sketch-based modeling interface (see REGEO), as much as the development of methods and tools for quality assurance of CAD models.
