It can be difficult for smaller businesses to get heard in a marketplace often dominated by large companies, so I hope the online workshop proved helpful. Marketers assemble. Media agencies. Discuss. In my (almost) 20 years working in marketing I have worked with, and continue to work with, some brilliant media agencies, however, I find myself reflecting on a couple of mind blowing experiences over the last week where I have encountered two agencies in particular where, in my opinion, their practices leave a lot to be desired. The first agency, tasked with a crucial deadline, simply vanished into oblivion, exhibiting a blatant disregard for their client and with no communication or care for the consequences of their inaction on the launch of a campaign. Meanwhile, a second agency, quoting for work, presented extortionate prices for media buying, seemingly without care for fair value that buying direct with negotiation would secure. Both experiences have been a sobering reminder of the importance of integrity and professionalism in the media industry and both experiences have me wondering if the “a fair days work for a fair days pay” culture is disappearing in front of our eyes? #marketing #mediaagency #discuss #marketingdiscussion #marketer
