Oleh itu, objektif bagi kajian ini adalah meneroka sumber dalaman mangsa banjir yang mempengaruhi mereka kepada pemerkasaan komuniti dalam pengurusan bencana banjir di Malaysia. Penyelidikan ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif di mana kajian kes pelbagai digunakan sebagai reka bentuk kajian. Ia melibatkan empat lokasi kajian iaitu negeri Kedah (Zon Utara), Selangor (Zon Tengah), Johor (Zon Selatan) dan Pahang (Zon Pantai Timur). The reduction of income caused by the crisis has forced single mothers and their children to live frugally and without luxury. They also had to perform more than one job at a time during the pandemic to meet their children’s needs. A qualitative study has been conducted to explore the perceptions of quality of life during the pandemic among B40 single mothers. Respondents were selected based on demographic characteristics established before the study. A focus group discussion has been conducted on ten (10) B40 single mothers in Balik Pulau, Penang. The disorder is predominantly characterised by low social skills noted explicitly in people with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (HFASD). The individuals usually possess a normal or superior intelligence quotient (IQ) but the disability impedes the achievement of their actual high potential, hence compromising their quality of life (QoL). Managing adversities encountered by children with HFASD often compromises the QoL of the entire family. Thus, this study aimed to identify specific domains of QoL among mothers of high-functioning autistic adolescents. Middle-aged women are working longer hours and spending less time with their families, which has led to family crisis, burn out, and depression. Thus, this study helps to determine the predictors of life satisfaction. The role of job satisfaction as a mediator was also assessed. Social support and job satisfaction have been found to influence life satisfaction. Moreover, job satisfaction was proven as the mediator in the relationship between social support and life satisfaction. This result indicates that life satisfaction of middle-aged career women rely significantly on job satisfaction. This study applied a survey technique, which is a set of questionnaire which consisted of socio-demographic scale and life satisfaction scale (based on Life Satisfaction Index - Short Form by Barrette and Murk, 2006). COVID-19 has left a huge impact on the patients’ mental health. Some of them face depression espe... more COVID-19 has left a huge impact on the patients’ mental health. Some of them face depression especially when they are stressed and in isolation from their family, friends, and neighbours. The purpose of this study is to explore the coping mechanism of the COVID-19 patients. The focus of this case study is on the lived experience of the patients who were in a critical stage in surviving the deadly virus, as well as their coping mechanism. Phenomenological approach was used to understand the emotion and experience of the respondents who were in the critical stage of COVID-19. Online interviews with the respondents were conducted via ‘meet’ and the interviews were recorded. The recordings were transcribed, and thematic analysis was conducted. Four themes were extracted which are: 1) treatment management, 2) positive thinking, 3) zikir and pray (doa), 4) acceptance (redha).
