Awangku Hassanal Bahar Pengiran Bagul
Dr. Awangku Hassanal Bahar bin Pengiran Bagul is currently working as an Associate Professor at Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy, a Research Fellow for Borneo Tourism Research Centre (BTRC) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. He is a Visiting Professor to Quest International University Perak and Tokushima University Japan and was a Visiting Professor at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.
He was the founding Director for EcoCampus Management Centre of UMS (2013-2015) and the Head of BIMP-EAGA Unit for Tourism Development (2012-2013). He is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief for both BIMP-EAGA Journal for Sustainable Tourism Development and Journal for BIMP-EAGA Regional Development.
Dr. Awangku Hassanal Bahar bin Pengiran Bagul has a strong passion in promoting sustainable development. His research projects focus on sustainability linked to tourism, development, capacity-building, local community and climate change. He publishes more than 150 publications and he is also a recipient of Innovative Teaching Award and Researcher of the Year Award both by Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Recently he received The Golden Globe Tigers 2016: Social Innovation - Leadership Award for Excellence in Social Innovation.
He is the co-founder of Art Bash: Champor - an art exhibition that promotes through Sabah's Arts and Artists through commercial and research platforms and Installation Art by the Bay @ KK while encouraging the development of Art Tourism.
