Mohd Shamrie Sainin is a lecturer and also a researcher in his heart. He joined Universiti Utara Malaysia as Tutor in September 2000 and started as a lecturer in 2002 soon after graduating with Master of IT (Artificial Intelligence) from University of Sydney, Australia. He had taught several Artificial Intelligence courses for undergraduate and postgraduate (Master) until end of 2008. He received a PhD in Computer Science from Universiti Malaysia Sabah in 2013. His PhD work is related to Ensemble learning, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Image Processing with the application to plant leaf classification (supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Rayner Alfred). In August 2017, he joined Universiti Malaysia Sabah as senior lecturer in the aim to pursue the new working environment and serving to his native homeland. His research interest includes artificial intelligence, data mining, machine learning, ensemble learning and image processing. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, thus his passion in photography and offroading (4x4) are the best activities for him to escape from serious academic works. His photography works can be seen at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sam4605.
