Saul Escalera
Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, graduated in Engineering at Technical University of Oruro, Bolivia. Under a Fulbright Scholarship grant obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc. 1966) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. 1971) in Geosciences (Chemical Engineering) at New Mexico Institute of Technology, USA. He is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences since 1992 and member of the Bolivian Society of Inventores since 2009.
He has worked as Senior Reserach Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais de Belo Horizonte, Brasil (1974-1977) doing reserach in the field of iron and steel.
He has worked as Senior Scientist at Sherex Chemical Company, Ohio, USA for 5 years (1977-1981) where based on his cientific research on new chemical products, has obtained the U.S. Patent Nº 4.325.821, April 20, l982 and the U.S. Patent Nº 4.337.149, June 29, l982 in the field of petrochemical processes. .
He has been Tenured Research Professor at the School of Engineering and Director of the School for Graduate Studies of San Simon University (UMSS) in Cochabamba, Bolivia for 24 years (1982-2005), where he has advised 40 thesis projects on Enginering, 6 M.Sc thesis. and 1 Ph.D thesis on Technological Topics.
Currently he is Emeritus Professor at UMSS and International Consultand in Industrial Processes.
