This project involves the design and construction of street light control and monitoring system using Internet of Things (IoT).
This includes the use of a micro-controller ATMEGA328P inside an Arduino Uno board, ESP8266 WiFi module, Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) Infrared sensors, current sensor, cloud platform and a mobile application. This project is a complete demonstration of how street lights can be built in the modern world where there is access to the internet. This can be remotely monitored and controlled, and with features the detect night and day to automatically switch ON and OFF respectively. There is a current sensor present to measure the amount of power consumed by the LEDs and to detect faults, all this data is sent to the cloud for data storage where the information can be accessed everywhere in the world.
The result of the project shows that using Internet of Things on street lights is the modern way of energy savings, monitoring and control.
