The incidence and severity of diseases affecting crops have increased significantly in the past years, leading to yield losses and affecting grain quality. Many studies have been carried out with the attempt to identify hybrids that are resistant to the main diseases, but few reports have studied inbred lines. Fifty inbred lines were evaluated, in two seasons, in randomized blocks with 3 replications for AUDPC (Area Under the Disease Progress Curve), obtained by evaluation of the disease at 45, 60, 75 and 90 days after planting. Rating of at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 corresponded to 0, 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80 and > 80% of leaf symptoms, respectively. The joint analysis of variance had significant differences between inbred lines for tropical rust, southern rust, gray leaf spot and phaeosphaeria leaf spot. There was a significant interaction between inbred lines and seasons for both tropical rust and southern rust. In season 1, tropical rust, southern rust and gray leaf spot differed significantly. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado com sete tratamentos formados pelos híbridos: IVF1-10 x IVD1 -8, IVF1 -3 x IVD1-1, IVF1 -2 x IVD1 - 9, IVF1 -6 x IVD1-1, IVF1-5 x IVD1-8, IVF1 -3 x IVD1 -2 e IVF1 -3 x IVD1-9. Foram utilizadas quatro subamostras de 50 sementes que receberam o impacto de um peso de 120 g à altura de 10 cm, gerando uma energia de 0,1176 Joules. Em seguida foram realizadas as avaliações dos danos mecânicos pelo teste de tintura de iodo a 2%, durante 5 min e lavadas em água corrente. Os danos mecânicos foram classificados em quatro níveis: sementes sem danos, danos leves, danos intermediários e danos graves. O híbrido IVF1-10 x IVD1 -8 é o mais suscetível; os híbridos IVF1-3 x IVD1 -1, IVF1-3 x IVD1-1, IVF1-2 x IVD1 -9, IVF1 -6 x IVD1-1 e IVF1-5 x IVD1 -8 são medianamente resistentes; e IVF1 -3 x IVD1-2 e IVF1-3 x IVD1-9 resistentes aos danos mecânicos.
