This condition makes the price of seaweed at the level of farmers is very unstable so that the increase in welfare for farmers and regional income is not realized. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of seaweed agroindustry investment that produces a carrageenan type of ATC (Alkali Treated Cottonii) in Southeast Sulawesi Province and design a feasibility development scenario. The feasibility of ATC agroindustry investment is analyzed by Net Present Value (NPV) Analysis, Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (NBCR), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Pay Back Period (PBP), Break-Even Point (BEP) and sensitivity analysis in various scenarios. This study measured the concentrations of Hg, As, Ni, Cd, and Pb in six fish species commonly con... more This study measured the concentrations of Hg, As, Ni, Cd, and Pb in six fish species commonly consumed in Kendari. Samples were bought within local markets from 2012 to 2017 at the end of the dry season. Results showed that mercury concentrations fluctuated between years and within species, except in the Caranx sexfasciatus, which showed no significant differences (Kruskall–Wallis, p-value > 0.05, df = 5) and an average concentration of 0.371 0.162 g g1 DW. Arsenic was found in high concentrations across species and years and varied widely in C. sexfasciatus, the lowest value being 0.32 0.01 g g1 DW in 2012 and the highest was 5.63 1.89 g g1 DW in 2017. The highest nickel concentrations were found in 2016 across four of the six species. The fish samples displayed very low cadmium and lead concentrations throughout the study. In addition, the potential human health risk due to fish consumption was assessed. This showed that mercury is the only one of the five metals present in concentrations high enough to individually pose a potential hazard, the only metal likely to be accumulated beyond a safe concentration in Kendari. The study was conducted during the West Season 2020. The sample consisted of 9 stations located near the mouth of the Lasolo River (station A), coastal waters (Station B) and the center part of Lasolo Bay (Station C). Phytoplankton sampling was using plankton nets with 25 µm meshsize. Identification of phytoplankton used microscope and the abundance calculation by using Sedgwick Rafter Counting Cell. The results showed that there are 23 phytoplankton genera from 5 classes found, namely 12 genera of Bacillariophycea Class, 5 genera of Dinophyceae Class, 3 genera of Chlorophyceae Class, 2 genera of Cyanophyceae class and 1 genera of Coscinodiscophyceae class. By abundance, phytoplankton compositions of the class Bacillariophyceae predominate with a percentage of 57%. Perairan ini berair payau dan dihuni oleh udang merah (Parhippolyte uveae). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik habitat udang merah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November–Desember 2021 di Desa Mopaano Kecamatan Lasalimu Selatan Kabupaten Buton. Lokasi penelitian ditetapkan secara sengaja pada dua zona dengan karakteristik habitat yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Zona 1 ditemukan udang merah dengan kelimpahan relatif tinggi yang menunjukkan zona tersebut disukai oleh udang merah. Metode yang dilakukan melalui penerapan program kerja menjadi dua bagian yaitu konektivitas output kerja dengan peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat Desa Batu Putih. Hasil pengabdian terdapat enam divisi kerja yang terdapat di PT. Benur Top De Heus yaitu divisi water, induk, post larva center, plankton, quality control, dan market. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2015 di perairan Lakara, Kabupaten Konawe Selatan, Sulawesi Tenggara. Sampel rajungan ditangkap menggunakan jaring (gillnet) di perairan dalam. Sampel rajungan yang tertangkap dipilih secara acak (random). Sebanyak 19 individu digunakan untuk analisis komposisi makanan. Setiap sampel di pisahkan menurut kelas ukuran dan jenis kelaminnya. Komposisi kelompok makanan dalam lambung rajungan terdiri dari empat kelompok yaitu plankton, daging, moluska dan material tidak teridentifikasi (MTT). Pada ukuran dewasa ditemukan kelompok makanan plankton dengan persentase komposisi sebesar 62,6 %, daging 26 %, material tidak teridentifikasi 8,7 % dan moluska sebesar 2,7 %. The study was conducted at the coastal areas of the district. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using an exponential comparison method. The objective of the study was to find out the growth model, size at the first maturity, fecundity, and sex ratio disparity of BSC. The samples were collected monthly during June 2014 April 2015 using gillnets, crab pots or hand-picking. Berried females were collected for fecundity (F) analysis. Relationship between weight (W) and carapace width (CW) were analyzed using a simple linear regression. The CW size of the first maturity was pointed out at 50% of frequency cumulative (CW50), while relationship between F and CW was analyzed following F = a*CW. Sex ratio of both sexes was tested using the Chi-square ( = 0.05). Penelitian ini dilaksankana selama tiga bulan yaitu pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2014. Pengambilan sampel ikan sidat dilakukan menggunakan alat tangkap pancing dan electrical fishing di tiga stasiun yang telah ditentukan berdasarkan keterwakilan karakteristik lingkungan. Total sampel yang diperoleh selama penelitian sebanyak 98 individu. Panjang ikan sidat yang tertangkap berkisar 240-764 mm. Hubungan panjang dan bobot tubuh organisme ini mengikuti pola pertumbuhan isometrik (b<3), Sedangkan faktor kondisinya berkisar 0,617-1,711. Parameter kualitas air seperti suhu (25-26 oC), pH air (7-8), kecepatan arus (20,75-22,07 m/s), kedalaman (40-87 cm) berada pada kisaran yang mendukung kehidupan ikan sidat. This research was conducted on February 2017 in Sambuli Village, Abeli Sub-district, Kendari City. The site selection was based on the consideration that in 2009 around 158 heads of the households who lived in Sambuli Village worked as seaweed farmers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui beberapa aspek biologi ikan sidat ( Anguilla sp.) di Su... more Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui beberapa aspek biologi ikan sidat ( Anguilla sp.) di Sungai Mosolo Pulau Wawonii, Konawe Kepulauan. Penelitian ini dilaksankana selama tiga bulan yaitu pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2014. Pengambilan sampel ikan sidat dilakukan menggunakan alat tangkap pancing dan electrical fishing di tiga stasiun yang telah ditentukan berdasarkan keterwakilan karakteristik lingkungan. Total sampel yang diperoleh selama penelitian sebanyak 98 individu. Panjang ikan sidat yang tertangkap berkisar 240-764 mm. Hubungan panjang dan bobot tubuh organisme ini mengikuti pola pertumbuhan isometrik (b<3), Sedangkan faktor kondisinya berkisar 0,617-1,711. Parameter kualitas air seperti suhu (25-26 oC), pH air (7-8), kecepatan arus (20,75-22,07 m/s), kedalaman (40-87 cm) berada pada kisaran yang mendukung kehidupan ikan sidat. Information concerning by-catch fish of gillnets is urgently needed in an effort to minimize disc... more Information concerning by-catch fish of gillnets is urgently needed in an effort to minimize discarded catches and maximize the utilization of by-catch fish for sustainable fisheries management purpose. The present study aimed to analyze and identify the species of by-catch fish caught by gillnets and assessing the level of gillnet friendly used by fishermen in Lalowaru coastal waters towards the sustainability of fish resources. The study was conducted from February to April 2017. The sampling fish was taken biweekly for 3 months. The fish samples were caught using gillnets mesh size of 1 inch, 11⁄2 inch, 13⁄4 inch, and 2 inch. All fish caught were collected and sorted according to species and then each species counted. The data were analyzed to obtain the proportion of the main catches and by- catch fish (incidental catchanddiscarded catch). The proportion of main catches were 25%, while the proportion of incidental catches and discarded catches were 86% and 14%, respectively. Those data indicate that by-catch fish is over amount than that of the main target of fish. It can be concluded that the gillnet fishing gears used by fishermen constitute non selective fishing gear.

Exploitation of coastal and marine resources is doubled increase. The general problems found around the coastal areas are people though coastal and marine resources constitutes the common property resources and the sea is the open access area. Most of the coastal and marine resources are in serious trouble worldwide due to exploitation rate of those resources are much higher than their recovery.

The fish samples displayed very low cadmium and lead concentrations throughout the study. In addition, the potential human health risk due to fish consumption was assessed. This showed that mercury is the only one of the five metals present in concentrations high enough to individually pose a potential hazard, the only metal likely to be accumulated beyond a safe concentration in Kendari. Chanos chanos never posed a toxicological risk based on the results of this research.
