The efficient and effective university education system is a huge benefit for individuals and for the community. The competences, innovation, and creativity developed through academic education are a major factor in the success in creating jobs and in our prosperity. As Bulgaria join EU community, it has the opportunity to act on the competition challenges and set the economy on a higher growth path.

Working time arrangements are a critical issue in call centres, both for managers and for employees. Service providers are under pressure to maximise availability and maintain profitability in increasingly competitive markets, operating round the clock to meet demand or cater to customers in different time zones. Managers are under pressure to maximise productivity and minimise costs, sometimes imposing performance targets that have to be implemented with split-second precision.

Findings the paper represent the experience and best practice of the JA-SU partnership and propose a model for future implementation in both engineering and scientific faculties. Learning-by-doing methodology is a key success factor for teaching entrepreneurship. Practical limitations/implications–we believe that the presented model is a good practice and can be promoted and successfully implemented in other universities in the region.

This chapter discusses the role of e-assessment in the process of competence development. Its basic claim is that competence development is a process, with distinct stages, and that the assessment forms, and the roles taken on by those involved in the process, depend on the stage in which learning occurs. More specifically, as a learner starts with competence development, self-assessment will be the most prominent, if not the only, form of assessment.

Present education and training needs more flexible education system then in the past. It is necessary education to be adaptive, considering with incoming students education level. As well as it has to be flexible, allowing new education aspect and modernization of old ones. New technologies development and implementation expand the possible education processing forms and ways. Information and communication technologies let to begin new pathways to lifelong learning in universities, schools and workplaces.

ABSTRACT Value co-creation, is an emerging business and innovation paradigm, however, there is not enough clarity on the distinctive characteristics of value co-creation as compared to more traditional value creation approaches. The present paper summarizes the results from an empirically-derived research study focusing on the development of a systematic procedure for the identification of firms that are active in value co-creation.

ABSTRACT Purpose–The purpose of the present paper is to propose a pattern towards filling the gap between demand for serious games on negotiations and lagging supply. A solution for dialogue-based negotiation games is described, to be defined by a human tutor and used in a virtual business environment.

Abstract In information society medical doctors have to use the power of information technology and systems to facilitate safe and high quality care. Electronic health information systems provide the ability to accomplish competently track tasks and communicate with all stakeholders. The competences concerning access, retrieval and analysis of medical and administrative data are important components for the work of every physician and can be taught in universities.

Abstract: Purpose: The paper focuses on the challenges for Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI) of Sofia University. It tries to provide an answer to the main questions–how to use the best practice of a leading universities in order to link the main research and academic faculty goals to specific problems to be planed and implemented; how to support the faculty executives for making better decisions, and resource allocation choices.

This paper aims at illustrating scenarios, models, results of the models and the experiences carried on within the EC 6FP TENCompetence project Pilot Trainings. It is focused on elucidating how to plan, model and organize pilots training process and how to adopt advanced best practices for creating patterns in order to improve the partners training business opportunities.

Abstract Graduate Student Company (GSC) is an innovative educational model to teach entrepreneurship competencies based on the learning-by-doing methodology. It represents the formation of a studentoperated mini-company which functions like a limited company, and the members buy shares in the company though personal contributions. During the process of learning, the students understand the opportunities of how to start and run a company and go through the whole company life cycle from establishment to closure.

This report describes the validation plans for the TENCompetence project. The validation strategy is described and the significance of the pilots programme described in the context of the project work plan. The opportunities provided by the four pilot areas are analysed. More detailed plans are provided for the Digital Cinema pilot scheduled for cycle 1 of the project. Plans are also provided for the testing and technical validation of the integrated system.

Creation of business plans helps entrepreneurs in managing identification of business opportunities and committing necessary resources for process evolution. Applying patterns in business plan creation facilitates the identification of effective solutions that were adopted in the past and may provide a basis for adopting similar solutions in the future within given business context. The article presents the system design of an information portal for business plan cocreation based on patterns.

This report describes the efforts in cycle 1 pilots to evaluate the concept of TENCompetence and its first-release system implementation. Cycle 1 pilots are framed in two different domains: Digital Cinema and ICT Teacher Training. Both pilots are preceded by two preliminary experiences, which are very useful for planning the actual cycle 1 implementation, deployment and evaluation.

Abstract: Although much has been done about competitiveness of SMEs in the last years, there are many open questions. In this paper we set out to use public Internet information and investigate big number of companies' web sites. We present a methodology that uses a business intelligence tool for online data collection and analytics for investigation. The goal is to use analytics paradigm and propose an on-line approach for the purposes of company competitive advantage investigation and prediction.
