A primeira série é a análise da atividade de conselheiro político de Platão, e seu objetivo é detectar o aparecimento de três condições de realidade que a filosofia tira de sua relação com a política. A segunda série é a análise dos conselhos políticos de Platão, e cujo objetivo é detectar a parresía na raiz do conselho político de Platão. Tal investigação firma o estabelecimento de três pontos principais que se podem depreender da relação entre filosofia e política nas Cartas de Platão e que culminam na afirmação do caráter totalmente prático da filosofia antiga, uma filosofia cuja realidade e tarefa é a definição do modo de ser do homem político.
