Most of the solutions at the state of the art have strong limitations in taking into account: multiple contextual information as attractors/motivations for people movements, modalities of travel means, multiple operators, and a range of key performance indicators. For these reasons, a model for analyzing the demand with respect to the offer of mobility has been studied, and the corresponding tool DORAM developed. DORAM allows to perform the analysis of alternative scenarios, as what-if analyses, when the transport service offer and the mobility demand changed in the scenario, adopting a fast-computation strategy to compare scenarios with the aim of detecting/identifying motivations of crowded conditions on stops and on the vehicles. The analysis can exploit a wide range of data sources when computing a set of key ...
CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels make a relevant contribution to atmospheric changes and c... more CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels make a relevant contribution to atmospheric changes and climate disruptions. In cities, the contribution by traffic of CO2 is very relevant, and the general CO2 estimation can be computed (i) on the basis of the fuel transformation in energy using several factors and efficiency aspects of engines and (ii) by taking into account the weight moved, distance, time, and emissions factor of each specific vehicle. Those approaches are unsuitable for understanding the impact of vehicles on CO2 in cities since vehicles produce CO2 depending on their specific efficiency, producer, fuel, weight, driver style, road conditions, seasons, etc. Thanks to today’s technologies, it is possible to collect real-time traffic data to obtain useful information that can be used to monitor changes in carbon emissions. The research presented in this paper studied the cause of CO2 emissions in the air with respect to different traffic conditions. In particular, we propos...

The main effects have been detected on: mobility and environment, and specifically on traffic, environmental data and parking. The mobility reduction has been assessed to be quite coherent with respect to what has been described by Google Global mobility report. On the other hand, in this paper a number of additional aspects have been put in evidence providing detailed aspects on mobility and parking that allowed us to better analyse the impact of the reopening on an eventual revamping of the infection, also taking into account of the Rt index. To this end, the collected data from the field have been compared from those of Google and some considerations with respect to the Imperial college Report 20 have been derived. For the pollutant aspects, a relevant reduction on most of them has been measured and rationales are reported. The solution has exploited the Snap4City IOT smart city infrast...

Weather services and institutions have started to employ social media to deliver weather warnings even if sometimes this communication lacks in strategy. In Twitter, for example, hashtagging is very important to associate messages with certain topics; in recent years, codified hashtagging is emerging as a practical way to coordinate Twitter conversations during emergencies and quickly retrieve relevant information. In 2014, a syntax for codified hashtags for weather warning was proposed in Italy: a list of 20 hashtags, realized by combining #allertameteo (weather warning) + XXX, where final letters code the regional identification. This contribution presents a monitoring of Twitter usage of weather warning codified hashtags in Italy (since July 2015) and an analysis of different contexts. Twitter messages were...

Multimedia services of cultural institutions need to be supported by content, metadata and workfl... more Multimedia services of cultural institutions need to be supported by content, metadata and workflow management systems to efficiently manage huge amount of content items and metadata production. Online digital libraries and cultural heritage institutions, as well as portals of publishers need an integrated multimedia back office in order to aggregate content collection and provide them to national and international aggregators, with respect to Intellectual Property Rights, IPR. The aim of this paper is to formalize and discuss requirements, modeling, design and validation of an institutional aggregator for metadata and content, coping with IPR Models for conditional access and providing content towards Europeana, the European international aggregator. This paper presents the identification of the Content Aggregator requirements for content management and IPR, and thus the definition and realization of a corresponding distributed architecture and workflow solution satisfying them. It represented a virtual Centre of Excellence during the period of the project and today an international association where music content providers, cultural institutions, industry, and research institutions work together, drawing on their collective assets and mutual interests, to exploit the potential of multimedia music contents with new technologies, tools, products, formats and models. Due to large gaps between needs and real products and solutions, many products in the market fail to exploit the potential of new multimedia technologies effectively. MUSICNETWORK helps research solutions to reach the market by seeking agreements between different actors and formats, by bringing together research institutions, industries, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and experts to build the required momentum to study and define multi...
