Come realizzarlo nelle diverse realtà educative?

Also in such contexts, students establish relationships with classmates and teachers, and feel the atmosphere, the sense of belonging to an institution and to a community of learners. For teachers, however, it is difficult to understand how students perceive these dynamics. Therefore, the University Climate Questionnaire for Distance Education Contexts (UCliQ-DE), composed of 22 items, has been developed and validated through factorial analysis and reliability studies among a population of freshmen in an Italian BA program in Educational Sciences. It was concluded that the UCliQ-DE is a valid and reliable assessment tool, and that it yields five interpretable factors: the perception of the relationships among students, the sense of belonging to the academic community, the previous expectations about the online university climate, the perception of the relationships between students and teachers, and the awareness of the potential limits of online interactions.

Following an explanation of the importance of aims and goals within the theories of education, the article proposes the analysis of three twentieth-century authors who are significant for the argument at hand, as they built their pedagogies, albeit differently, by identifying the ends of education: starting from the psychological description of the human subject at its different ages (René Hubert), its “nature” as defined by philosophy (Mario Casotti), or the social consensus found in social groups of reference (Anton S. Makarenko). On the basis of this analysis, the article identifies three formal ways for constructing pedagogical teleologies (autotelic, endotelic and exotelic), and discusses their potentialities and limits.

At the beginning, it centers on the reasons for the gap between school and media cultures; then, it argues that the concept of literacy – in its most modern form, which include the idea of "multiliteracies" – is the cornerstone to link the media culture to school activities, that is the theories and practice of media education (or media literacy education). In the second part, the article shows the goals of media literacy education (understanding, critical viewing, and produce media messages) and some possible connections between this area and other school's goals, as critical thinking, civic participation, and gender identity development, health, and aesthetic education.

After a brief overview on the Italian experiences, the article reconstructs and interprets the significant case of the educational film making in the Corea School Village, Livorno, and highlights some of its noticeable features: the strong social ideals, the attention to the “conscientization” of the pupils, the learning-by-doing methodology, the continuity between the different sections of the Village, the Action-Research approach, and the high quality documentation of the experiences

The article first outlines the main leans in screen education of the time, before it reconstructs De Sanctis’ contribution in this area, connecting it to the other core topic of his work (for which he is best remembered today): lifelong learning. In doing so, the article focuses on the method of post-film discussion, used in the context of both film clubs and schools. Criti-cally analyzing De Sanctis’ media pedagogy, the article reveals, beyond the orig-inality of the author, interesting insights regarding the historical evolution of the field, such as the problematic theorization of the inoculation/protectionist model, and the end of the orientation aimed at the aesthetic development of the human subject.

Through the examples of significant experiences of film and screen education carried out between 1950 and 1990, it first highlights how the concept of literacy has formed the theoretical substrate for the subsequent development of ML, especially in the case of elementary education, where alphabetic literacy has always been considered a core objective. The entry then goes on to show how the integration of ML in elementary schools has followed several paths, both as to its place within the school organization and teaching program, and as to the principle on which the curricula have been built. For the main directions taken, concrete examples are reported. Finally, the entry looks at some trends regarding the further development of ML, research needs, teaching methods, and the issue of teacher training.

The first part of the article argues for an approach to ethical questions that is neither normative nor deontological, but rather emerges from a shared sensibility that leads all professionals in the field to act as autonomous and responsible subjects in their respective jobs. In the second part, then, three key problems are discussed: 1. the contents that media educators choose to teach, 2. their methods of establishing educational relationships, and 3. their (sometimes limited) awareness of the ideological, scientific and methodological principles that nonetheless guide them in their work.
