This paper has the purpose of exposing the aspects concerning the
medical interpreting field. The main point of this monograph consists of
revealing the invisibility, fidelity and loyalty issue in the universe of interpreters
working in medical settings. Our research is based on articles, books and other
theoretical materials for the development of the subject and information of
medical, translation and interpreting areas were crossed. It was investigated the
possibility of total invisibility in medical interpreting and, if applying the loyalty
concept, and not only fidelity to the text to be interpreted, the interpreter will be
able to perform his/her task with quality and efficiency.
