Giuseppe Nesi
Giuseppe Nesi is Full Professor of International Law and Law of International Institutions and the former Dean (2012-18) of the School of Law at the University of Trento, where since 1993 he taught also European Union Law and International Human Rights. He was the Legal Adviser to the President of the United Nations General Assembly of the 65th session (2010-2011). From 2002 to 2010 he was the Legal Adviser of the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations, in New York. After his legal studies at the University of Catania, he received a Master of Arts in International Affairs at the Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in International Law at the University of Rome. In 2013 he was appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as eminent personality in the field of human rights, member of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Human Rights. Among the promoters and member since its foundation of the Italian Society of International Law, he was its Vice-President (2016-17). He is member of various international law associations. He is the General Editor of the Italian Yearbook of International Law. He is in the Board of Governors of the International Association of Law Schools (2018). He passed the equivalent of the Bar Exam in Italy (1986). He published and edited several books and articles on various topics such as international institutions, United Nations and cooperation with other international organizations, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, international criminal justice, international cooperation in counterterrorism, terrorism and human rights, Peacebuilding Commission, child labour and the International Labour Organization, territorial and maritime delimitations, jurisdictional immunities, migration, and lectured in several Universities and cultural institutions in Italy and abroad.

Il risultato è un rapido e ovviamente non esaustivo patchwork dei molteplici aspetti della vita di relazione internazionale, dalla cooperazione internazionale alla diffusione della cultura italiana all'estero, dalla lotta al terrorismo alle questioni energetiche, dalle Nazioni Unite alla comunicazione... La varietà dei temi affrontati ha molto interessato gli studenti di materie giuridiche che aspirano a intraprendere la carriera diplomatica e quelle a essa collegate, ma anche altri che desiderano comprendere meglio come opera questa parte dello Stato che ha tra i propri compiti istituzionali proprio quello di entrare continuamente in rapporto con altri Paesi per difendere e promuovere gli interessi nazionali.
