What I would like to talk about today is about a concept present in the psychology of sport and f... more What I would like to talk about today is about a concept present in the psychology of sport and from which we can draw useful suggestions for our analytic work. The concept is called : " optimal experience or flow experience ". When we talk about Flow, we are talking about a concept that was developed in the United States and in particular around the 70s, basically it is on the quality of experience that help us to increase well-being. The question was to evaluate what kind of experience there was in the sports context that allowed high performances. What should interest us is to take care of people and allow them to develop the edaumonic dimension, that is to build their own individual destiny and well-being that is not just the achievement of pleasure but the result of the development of a personal identity, of an individual hidden virtue whose realization leads to happiness understood as the maximum expression of one's potential. In the sporting context one of the most interesting results was the focus on optimal experience or Flow that the point from which we start. The optimal experience is considered as one of the main elements for a fulfilling life full of meaning. In Flow the action of the subject proceeds freely in harmony with the surrounding context, favoring a level of total absorption of the activity practiced (according to Csikszentmihaly, 1975 that first described it). The starting point for the identification of the flow experience started from the analysis of the experience of the artists and then of the athletes. It was observed that there was something inalienable and fascinating in the creative or sports process that pushes us to continue, that there was the possibility of getting lost in a timeless bubble and getting in full
