Truly outstanding was the 1977 congress, which took place 900 years after the famous meeting at Canossa, and marked a significant increase in the level of international research. Research has been carried on at subsequent conferences held in Mantua and in Lucca for St. Anselm in 1986, in Reggio E. in 1992 and in 1997; while Matilda has been remembered in various European scholarly meetings.

In suo ricordo si ripubblica qui il suo saggio "Matilde Dei sponsa", apparso nella miscellanea "Reggiolo medievale" nel 1978.

In her will Lucretia ("altera Mathilids") donated the large possession of "La Segnata" to Polirone; other donations were made by Cesare Arsago, a Milanese merchant, who moved to Mirandola following Caterina Trivulzio, "datiarius" of the Pico family. Finally, the essay focuses on the figure of the notary Giovan Pietro Collevati, who fled Mirandola for legal issues and took refuge in the monastery of St. Benedict, becoming its official notary.

Alterations in cytoplasmic membrane integrity were monitored by propidium iodide, and the anionic probe bis-(1,3-dibutylbarbituric acid) trimethine oxonol (DiBAC4(3)) was used to measure changes in membrane potential. Microbial size and cellular content were analysed by light scattering. Twelve antibiotics were tested on 6 ATCC control strains, 22 urine isolates and 19 clinical urine samples, variously containing Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, S. saprophyticus and S. epidermidis. Agreement between the flow cytometry results, broth microdilution and disk diffusion tests was 93.9% (n = 328 tests). Of the 20 discrepancies observed, 18 were for species other than E. coli.
