El presente trabajo de investigación aborda el estudio del urbanismo en el valle de Chincha duran... more El presente trabajo de investigación aborda el estudio del urbanismo en el valle de Chincha durante los periodos Estados Regionales Tardíos y Tawantinsuyu a partir del sitio de Tambo de Mora, un complejo urbano ubicado en el sector noroeste del valle y que fue, junto a los sitios de La Centinela y La Cumbe, la antigua capital del Señorío de Chincha. En este artículo discutimos los resultados de nuestras investigaciones llevadas a cabo en el sitio arqueológico La Cumbe (Pv57-3), ubicado en el valle de Chincha, Perú. Nos enfocamos en la importancia de esta arquitectura monumental para la configuración del paisaje a través del tiempo. La evidencia material encontrada remonta a la construcción de este sitio por las primeras poblaciones paracas, que ocuparon el valle durante el Periodo Formativo (850-200 a. n. e.). Fue funcionalmente definido como un centro ceremonial andino, reutilizado en los periodos tardíos e incorporado a la vida social del Señorío de Chincha como lugar de culto a Chinchaycamac, deidad local durante la Época Inca. En dichos periodos, el sitio pasó a formar parte, junto a Tambo de Mora y La Centinela, del núcleo político y religioso de este señorío.

En este artículo se abordan los procesos de inferencia realizados para definir espacios arquitect... more En este artículo se abordan los procesos de inferencia realizados para definir espacios arquitectónicos y las actividades productivas desarrolladas y subyacentes en el Subsector Chacra W del sitio de Tambo de Mora (PV57-2) ubicado en valle bajo de Chincha. A partir de ello se aporta al conocimiento acerca de los grados de especialización del trabajo en el Señorío de Chincha. Posteriormente se ubica las actividades de producción de alimentos en el marco de la reconstrucción de los aspectos del modo de vida, manejo de recursos naturales (botánico y faunísticos) y formas de consumo en relación al área monumental de este centro urbano durante la ocupación Inca del valle.

Los trabajos arqueológicos realizados en el sitio de Tambo de Mora (PV57-2), un complejo urbano p... more Los trabajos arqueológicos realizados en el sitio de Tambo de Mora (PV57-2), un complejo urbano periférico a La Centinela, a cargo del Programa de Investigaciones Arqueológicas Chincha han permitido revelar una serie de espacios, instrumentos de producción y de vajilla exclusiva, desde los cuales se ha podido caracterizar la ocupación local Chincha y examinar la presencia incaica. Los datos elaborados desde el registro arqueológico de Tambo de Mora son clave para discutir los detalles de las relaciones sociopolíticas celebradas entre las elites chinchanas, incas, e incluso otros grupos de poder regional, básicamente costeños.
