The strains of P. aeruginosa isolated from Sheffield General Northern Hospital (UK) and studied for phenotypic and genotypic identifications. This present study were conducted in Sheffield Hallam University (UK) and was aimed to evaluate the application of Phenotypic and Genotypic techniques to identify P. aeruginosa. Generally, the results of Real time PCR (RTPCR) revealed that the diagnosis viability was confirmed for P. aeruginosa. However, identification on the basis of phenotype by differences in types of growth on cetrimide and acetamide agar medium presents that both agars were conducive to the growth of P. aeruginosa. The strains of P. aeruginosa were also tested for antibiotic susceptibility to six different antibiotics, imipenem showed the greatest inhibition effect on the bacteria. It was observed that genetic techniques in accordance with phenotypic tests have fac...

Introduction Recently, nanoemulsion hydrogel has been highlighted as one of the most promising drug delivery system by reason of their unique ability in combining hydrogel system with nanoemulsion [1]. Hydrogels are polymeric networks with three dimensional structure which have the ability to absorb a great amount of water or biological fluids [2]. Avocado oil has been used as an antioxidant due to the high amount of oleic mono saturated fatty acids in the oil [3]. It also promotes the accumulation of HLD cholesterol that gives health benefits to the cardio vascular system [4]. In addition to that, it is useful as anti- inflammatory agent [5] and in cancer prevention [6]. This study aimed to prepare nanoemulsion hydrogel containing avocado oil for topical application on the skin. 2. Material and Method Avocado oil (Sigma-Aldich, South Africa), Sucrose esters (laureate) (Juhalim, Malaysia), glycerol, and Carbopol (HMBG Chemicals, Malaysia). 3. The results & Discussion The ternary phase diagram constructed and presented in fig 1, was used to aid in finding the concentration range of nano-emulsions components [2]. Sucrose laurate has good emulsification property, which may be due to its excellent miscibility between components in the system. Szuts and Szabo-Revesz; Leong et al., found that nanoemulsion that used high HLB value like sucrose laurate as surfactant has good emulsification properties [7]. 4. Conclusıon In the current investigation, the optimum Avocado oil nanoemulsion was prepared by heat inversion and self- emulsification techniques with a composition (60% w/w oil, 16% w/w Stearate and 24% w/w glycerol). After achieving nanoemulsion, it was mixed with Carbopol and water to produce nanoemulsion hydrogel. The droplets size of nanoemulsions hydrogel were less than 200 nm with PDI below 0.2 and Low negative zeta potential > -30, which indicate that the formulations are stable. Finally, Rheology test for nanoemulsions hydrogel showed an increase with the increase in the oil concentration and the inclusion of Carbopol.

Therefore, several new drug carrier systems have been developed such as nanoemulsions Nanoemulsion is submicron sized emulsion Typically in the range of 20-200 cm, Avocado oil is often used in herbal skin care. The aim of this study was to characterize nanoemulsion hydrogel prepared using avocado oil and sucrose ester stearate as surfactant. The nanoemulsion hydrogel were prepared by nanophase emulsification technique. These forrnulations were examined using zetasizer to determined the mean diameter of dispersed oil droplets, polydispersibility index (PD1) and zeta potential. Also the viscosity of the prepared nanoemulslon hydrogel were studied. The results reveled that nanoemulson prepared with 60% w/w oil, 24% w/w glycerol and 16%w/w surfactant showed droplets size below 200 nm with good polydispersibility index and zeta potential < -30 mV. This paper evaluates the use of zinc oxide nanoparticles, dispersed in a laboratorial prepared acrylic copolymer [polyethylmethacrylate/methylacrylate (70:30) (Poly EMA/MA)], as a nanocomposite coating material with hydrophobic, consolidating and protecting properties against artificial aging by relative humidity/temperature, UV radiation and dirt accumulation. The obtained nanocomposites have been characterized by transimition electron microscopy (TEM) to ensure the homogenous dispersion of ZnO nanoparticles in the polymer matrix and the average crystal size. Marble stone blocks have been prepared and coated by the nanocomposite material, the efficiency of the treatments has been evaluated after coating and artificial aging, through capillary water absorption, Ultraviolet-light exposure to evaluate photo-induced and the hydrophobic effects of th...

Commonly, it is well known under the name of " dragon fruit " or " pitaya ". In Malaysia, it is also called 'buahnaga' which gives the meaning of dragon fruit. Besides its attractive coloration, the fruits of Hylocereusundatus are being prevailed globally because of its rich source of polyphenolic components and their antioxidant activity. A wide ranging of phytochemicals of betalains, polyphenolic compounds and carotenoids are discovered to possess chemo-protective properties against oxidant stress in the body as well as maintain optimum equilibrium between antioxidants and oxidants for the enhancement of human health. The findings of this review are important to deliver an overview of Hylocereusundatus and its functional phytochemicals, with relation to its potential health benefit in providing perspectives of research and application. It presented more environmental benign antioxidant and antibacterial agents that are significant in the fields of healthcare, food processing, nutraceutical and cosmeceutical. Therefore, there should be a collective work by scientists and researchers to maximize the value chain of this fruit to global cultivars in order to expand the global market of dragon fruit.
