We conducted a comprehensive literature synthesis to identify a set of nine critical factors combining advancements in both acoustic field and recording practice. We measured each of these potential variables while 10 individual singers performed the same original song independently. The pieces of music sentences (n = 380) were analyzed by the multiple linear regression method. We found that: 1. In the recording process, the RwT of a singer are predicted mainly by intensity, singing duration (SinD) and rhythm consistency. 2. SinD mediates the connection between intensity and RwT. 3. A singing peak exists in the performance.

This study investigated parental attitudes and awareness of parental roles in children's music learning. Ten parents in Kuala Lumpur who have been sending their children (7-12 years old) to learn musical instrument in a music centre participated in this research. The data were collected through a set of interview question based on Youm's parental attitude framework (2013). The findings revealed that the parents in Klang Valley, Malaysia have clear goals for their children through music learning but lack the initiative and confidence to guide their children when they are practising at home; local parents emphasized the training of independence and responsibility for their children by providing minimal assistance. Although they were aware that parental roles are important, they showed a low willingness to guide their children at home, as well as low willingness on expanding musical knowledge, and a low motivation to enrich and perform their roles.

The curriculum bureau of UCSCAM takes care of the schools' curriculum development. The organization had published three complete music textbooks for junior music classroom teaching since 1998, however, the organization has never been able to master the comprehensive understanding of the implementation of music education among all Chinese Private High Schools throughout the entire nation. Hence, a survey has been done in 2005 using questionnaires, interviews and observations respectively on each school's music education implementation, the music teachers' background, the current music teaching materials, the music teaching equipment, the extracurricular music activities, the methods of assessments and the teachers' general opinion to the current states. This might have worsened the management of some chronic diseases such as Parkinson's Disease (PD). PD is a chronic neurodegenerative disease in which the symptoms of the disease worsen over time. Apart from the prominent motor problems, studies also noted that the quality of life (QoL) of the People with Parkinson's Disease (PwP) deteriorates significantly with increasing disease severity. The impairment in the QoL often causes PwP to social withdrawal and social isolation, leading to higher possibilities for PwP to develop neuropsychiatric disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as causing caregivers' distress. A tele-based music program was designed for the PwP aiming to encourage social engagement and to instil positive living. This paper reports the preliminary findings of the reception of a trial tele-based music program on psychosocial wellbeing in people with PwP.

They are believed to have an increased risk of developing voice disorder, and the cause is often associated with several factors such as high vocal demands, unfavourable working conditions, lifestyle, and lack of knowledge in vocal health. Vocal disorder not only affects teachers in conducting and managing classes. It also affects their daily interaction with people and contributes to the decline of their physical and emotional health. This study aims to understand teachers' current vocal condition better and measure teachers' knowledge of vocal care. An online survey was conducted; 40 teachers, 33 females and 7 males, responded to the study. The study reviewed that teachers voice feels dry (51.22%), sore (24.39%) and pain (12.20%) after a day of teaching and 78% of the teachers experience at least once vocal discomfort in a year. In conclusion, the insights and perception of vocal health base on self-report information of voice condition and lifestyle of teachers pertinent to this geographical location will be helpful in the development of vocal health programs for teachers in Malaysia.

Core symptoms of the disease are such as tremor-at-rest, rigidity, postural instability, and bradykinesia. Apart from these motor-problems, other problems such as sleep disorder, sensory abnormalities, neuropsychiatric disorders also exist. In addition to the motor-problems, latest literature documented 80-90% of the people with Parkinson’s Disease (PwP) are prone to develop voice impairment known as Parkinsonian Dysarthria, when symptoms deteriorate, causing loss of communication, difficulties in swallowing and breathing
that are psychologically devastating and life threatening. Growing research in music therapy (MT) and music-based rehabilitative activities worldwide documented positive effects on PwP. A local research using therapeutic singing as rehabilitative model at the Malaysian Parkinson’s
Disease Association (MPDA) also have reported positive benefits in improving vocal problems in the Malaysian PwP. In this research, some primary and preliminary data on the vocal characteristic, including baseline vocal loudness (VL), pitch range (PR) and respiratory rate (RR)
were obtained among 22 local PwP prior to examining effects of singing on PwP. Findings of this study showed that the PwP speak softer than the normal accepted range. The findings also showed that they have tendency to develop rapid breathing, and their average pitch range while
singing is limited within the range of G#3 – B4. These findings can further propose guidelines for voice rehabilitation models based on the preliminary voice characteristics concluded in this study.
