THIS PAPER REVIEWS PREVIOUS WORKS RELATED TO TIME SERIES AND IT EVALUATES THREE APPROACHES FOCUSED TO THE COMPARISON OF THESE TYPES OF SERIES. TWO APPROACHES ARE BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF DYNAMIC TIME WARPING ALGORITHM (DTW) AND ONE OF THEM USES QUALITATIVE REPRESENTATION BASED ON EPISODES. BOTH STRATEGIES ARE DISCUSSED AND APPLIED TO A TANK SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS AND RETRIEVAL OF REGISTERS OF PERTURBATIONS GATHERED IN A ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION SUBSTATION. THE THIRD APPROACH USES A SIMILARITY INDEX DEFINED BY QUALITATIVE LABELS. EACH LABEL REPRESENTS A RANGE OF VALUES THAT, FROM A QUALITATIVE PERSPECTIVE, WE MAY CONSIDER SIMILAR. THIS APPROACH IS TESTED WITH TWO DATASETS.

Our proposal allows a variable number of participant objects in an interaction, and this number will be fixed during the execution of the model. This provides a very flexible interaction model based on synchronous interactions among several objects. Our interaction model is based on events and allows a multiple-way communication among objects. Concrete values of a communication are generated through constraints which are imposed locally on each participant object. The proposed interaction (and communication) model is very versatile and can be used as an abstract specification mechanism.

In this paper, this study is car- ried out by means of the comparison of time series. It is proposed as an improvement in the comparison of time series with the inclusion of qualitative knowledge. Taking into account the evolution of the values of the series, our approach uses a similarity index defined by qualitative labels. Every label represents a rank of val- ues that we may consider similar, from a qualitative per- spective. The proposed index is defined by means of the matching of qualitative labels. Let be a time series, a label is obtained with every trans- action of every two adjacent values. This label depends on the magnitude and the sign of the transaction. If ev- ery label is represented by means of a single character, then the evolution of the temporal series is translated into a string. Finally, an index of similarity of the time series is defined according to the similarity of the ob- tain...

One of the most interesting options in OpenCV is their feature descriptors and detectors which can be used for identifying objects in digital images. Obtaining narratives that cognitively describe digital images is still a challenge in AI. In this project, a step forward meeting this challenge is proposed by using the OpenCV for detecting objects and defining an approach for qualitatively describing the spatial properties of those objects in the images. The qualitative properties extracted can be easily used in narratives for human computer interaction.

Furthermore, used in combination with machine learning technologies, it should help doctors in therapeutic path and in minimally invasive intervention procedures. Confidentiality of medical records is a very delicate issue, therefore some anonymization process is mandatory in order to maintain patients privacy. Moreover, data availability is very limited in some health domains like lung cancer treatment. Hence, generation of synthetic data conformed to real data would solve this issue. In this paper, the use of generative adversarial networks (GAN) for the generation of synthetic data of lung cancer patients is introduced as a tool to solve this problem in the form of anonymized synthetic patients. Generated synthetic patients are validated using both statistical methods, as well as by oncologist...

Their qualitative knowledge is represented by means of qualitative operators and envelope functions. A semiqualitative model is transformed into a family of quantitative models. In this paper the analysis of a model is proposed as a constraint satisfaction problem. Constraint satisfaction is an umbrella term for a variety of techniques of Artificial Intelligence and related disciplines. In this paper attention is focused on intervals consistency techniques. The semiqualitative analysis is automatically made by means of consistency techniques. The presented method is applied to a industrial biometallurgical system in order to show how increase the capacity of production.

The proposed solving techniques use either a constraintbased framework or a logic-based approach. We propose a methodology to obtains desired configuration using basic configuration cells(BCC). They are built by means of the predefined components and connections of the given configuration problem. In practical applications of configuration tasks the BCCs and configuration goals are represented according to object-oriented programming paradigm. They are mapped into a numeric constraint satisfaction problem. The transformation of a basic configuration cell into a new one generates a sequence of numeric constraint satisfaction problems. We propose an algorithm that solves this sequence of problems in order to obtain a configuration solution according to the desired requirements or that detects inconsistencies in the requirements. The integration of objectoriented and constraint programming paradigms allows us to achieve a synergy that produces results that could not be obtained if each one were working individually.
